No trouble finding this cache when we found the right bit of equipment. Just a little water in the creek.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winte for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and third day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. In town for a short trip and to avoid some of the Sydney cold and wet but still sub zero nights.Another early morning start with E_Similey that saw over night ice on the windscreen. After a few caches the sun was out and off to Owen Springs we went. Lucky we had a 4WD given some of the river crossings and puddles from recent rains. Some interesting history and storys The cache was soon found and signed. TFTC
Ocw the Bebes as we stay in AS. Went for a nice drive today and picked up a few caches. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin Staying in Alice for a few days, exploring with caches. Such a fun drive out here today, loved the scenery and the history. Close to GZ, GPS pushed us towards one thing mentioned in the location name but we found cache at the other. Tftc
Pump Out1.5/4.5 Small Traditional Cache Replaced cache here. Can't believe none of my geocaching friends found it yet.Thank you for the cache Sweetpea & Scruff. Nice d/t.
On our travels we decided to do the Owen springs 4x4 track, after some heavy rain the track was a bit soft in spots but still a good drive, we got to the pump sight but like others before hand had no luck finding any trace of the cache and the flood debris was higher than the top of the pump,
Thanks for placing this cache

Found it - sort of. No container or log book - just a McDonald's toy in plastic wrapper beginning to deteriorate - needs maintenance.
Found it. Visited this caches in a sunday evening and night with a car in a short trip to australia. I'VE FORGOTTEN A PEN TO SIGN THE LOGS . Greetings from Brasov, Romania
Seems to have possibly got a bit overgrown with these fairly prickly bushes, and I wimped out in charging into them. TFtc to see anyway
Came and read the good information signs and then found the container which is all in good condition.
Thanks for the cache Sweetpea & Scruff.

An interesting bit of history here. Easy find thanks. Put the drone up here for some aerial views.
We were camped a few hundred meters from here so an easy find in the morning
I didn't have any other caches loaded for here as we weren't planning to pass this way, but we are really glad we came because it is a great place to visit and camp.
Cheers and thanks,

Another favourite point as our muggle friends were amazed at just where this hobby took us and that it made you stop and really read why you were there. TFTC
DiamonJs and I were so thrilled to be able to do this trip with some muggle friends, at the last moment we checked for caches nearby, quick find. TFTC in a great spot.
We are heading off on an outback adventure with Mrs Just a Trifle looking forward to visiting Goodward Station in Boulia, which was once owned by her grandfather, and Mr Just a Trifle hoping to climb Ayers Rock before it is permanently closed to climbing
As usual, with responsibilities caring for grand children and elderly parents, we still can not take the time we would really like to explore this great land of ours so yet again it is mostly an express trip through some terrific locations.
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you Sweetpea & Scruff for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Stumbled across this cache when not actually looking. So, we're claiming it anyway. Such a beautiful and interesting journey.
Stumbled across without even looking. Interesting trip to here. Left an wrist band im honour of QLD Ian Stanley who died as a restful of a one punch assault. Wrist band campaign by QPS police.
Accidental find! Took some visitors for a drive and they are geocaching extraordinaires! @ MurielG and soloroadknight
Had been meaning to visit Owen Springs for many years. Today I found myself with time, and a tank full of diesel in the Cruiser. So off I went with no plans other than a drive. Saw the cache, and immediately identified what it was, I think to myself "Self I say, lets check the GPSr" and yep, previously downloaded PQ tells me there is a cache here. So opened it up and signed the log.
I was heading up to Alice Springs from Adelaide on my own to meet up with FeatherWaite and decided to deviate a little to make the journey more interesting.
I ended up travelling via Lambert Centre, Finke, the Old Ghan track, Chambers Pillar, the Hugh River Stock Route, Rainbow Valley, Owen Springs Reserve and a trip out to Ruby Gap for good measure, finding a few caches along the way. It took me a few days longer, but was well worth it.
I visited this one as I travelled south to north through Owen Springs Reserve.
Thanks Sweetpea & Scruff for the cache.

Found this one by mistake. Saw the container sitting uncovered but knew what it was straight away so had to mark it off. Left a travel bug "vino" CBJQPA. That represents all the red wine we have drunk on this journey

WHOOPS! I'm logging about 100-200 or so caches like 3 months after the trip that we found them on! Completely forgot to log these but I did not forget the trip! Found this cache along with many others on an adventure around the red centre. Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

Today we explored Owen Springs Reserve using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. We enjoyed the history and the ruins encounted on the journey. An easy find.

More a DNL (look) than a DNF....I went in the low side I think and it was going to be hard to get to where I wanted to be....so I drove around and couldn't be bothered getting out of my safety thongs to tackle the grass. Nec time. TFTH tho.
We spent the night at Erldunda and had plenty of time to make it to Alice before nightfall so we took a leisurely drive through the Owens springs reserve picking up caches as we went.
We are really enjoying the drive through this reserve for it's history, it's scenery and a little bit of 4wding. We made a bit of a dogs breakfast out of this one and we got down to 144 metres on the needle and then the distance started to go up again. We thought , oh well, it looks like a bit of a bush bash. We stumbled over rocks, holes and fallen trees in the long grass and we weren't expecting to see what we found at gz and the best part the cache was found in the first place we looked. We went to sign the log, bugger no pen. Looked in the cache container and there was one there, you bewdy. No, double bugger it didn't work so back to the car we went with the log book, added our name and then back to gz again.
It was only after we had returned the cache to it's hide and started to look around that we first saw a much easier way in. Triple bugger!!
Oh well, at least we had some exercise getting this one.
Thanks Sweetpea & Scruff for the cache.

Not knowing the roads we did this one the hard way but grabbed the cache so no worries. Tftc
The nice drive through the reserve was going easier than expected, and we lobbed up to this next on the list. After everyone piled out, we all seemed to go off in different directions before the cache was found on what soon became the obvious spot, then we all signed our lives away and continued on our way.

Day 9 in my adventure to Alice Springs. Today was a bit different, I would hang out with some really cool people in skullracing, the geo princess and dazzpete. The aim was to get some higher terrain caches in the Owen Springs area and then see where the roads took us.
This was an unexpected item in the middle of nowhere. Everyone seemed to be heading in different directions but eventually cache was found where it should be.

Well, the mega is nearly upon us so i am trying to up my total to reach a milestone for the event. I am a quality Geocacher, not a quantity one, i have been doing it for 13 years and still not near 1000. I cache for the scenery in this beautiful country so i followed the old Ghan line south for a bit, than cut through the Stuart Hwy and back up through Owen Springs road and back to Alice in the dark. 12 for 12 caches for the day and some spectacular scenery and history to see. TFTC TNLN
i should have been more patient and followed the track round a bit more on this one instead of going through the creek and scaling the bank - but hey, the job got done and i need the exercise!

We found this cache on our Northern road trip, which was to celebrate my significant birthday. We saw some great places, met some wonderful people and slept through some 3 dog nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and finding caches made the trip more memorable – Thank you and ……Joy to the World!!

Another great cache. What history exists in these places. Found while out and about while on a day trip from Alice. On a big trip from SA tftc
Found on a days trip through the Owen Springs loop. Great history and scenery Thanks
I must admit that I haven't heard of Owen Springs before [:o]
But chasing a trail of caches that were showing up well off the main roads gave me a great insight into this area's history, as well as providing some spectacular views and a brilliant campsite for a night [^]
A short stroll from the track across the river had me at the site of the 'once was a pump'.
And there was a cache
Needs a new container though !!
The current one will not last long

Mr M crossed the creek which had a bit of water in it while Mrs M made the cuppas. Seem to have a lot of them while out geocaching. An enjoyable trip from the northern end of the road and really loved the scenery and spectacular rocky formations. Enjoyed looking at the ruins as well. Camped overnight in the rockiest river bed I've ever seen. Shame I twisted my ankle badly a couple of days ago and can hardly walk let alone explore the area. TNLN TFTC
Rough road to get to this one, but the great landscape and historic remnants made it worth the effort. Many TFTC!
Mid week camping trip to Owen Springs - good drive, our dog really enjoyed her swim. Thanks for the location and find.
Found after much searching while on vacation in Australia. Some took the high road while others forded the creek through the reeds, but it was a SUCCESS!
Our guide and OSL found this one while I stood on the other side of the river with my GPS directing them were to go. We later made camp a few 100 meters away in the river bed, our first time sleeping in SWAG.

DID NOT KNOW there was a cache here. Just realised while logging caches, we were not prepared to do this track as initially we wanted to go for the Palm valley trach through Finke NP but everybody told us the track was in very poor condition so we avoided it. What a beatiful track this was and in very good condition. We might come back one day to look fot the cache!
We camped on the opposite creek bank the night before and absolutely loved it. One of the best nights of our honeymoon, with a fire, cheese and a good bottle of red.

Found on the Anja & Setsujoku honeymoon tour!
After getting married on the 19th May it was time to head off for some rest and relaxation, or rather camping and lots of walking!
Find 46 of 74 on our tour of the Red centre outback.
Camped on the other side of the creek for the night enjoying a nice fire, and a bit of rain but it was well worth coming here. Looking at the old photos it seems that the pump has changed quite a bit since the cache was placed.
A great place to spend hte night, and you can enjoy the fairly easy 4wd track as well.
Thanks to Sweetpea & Scruff for the cache and another chance to see the outback.

This is a great cache location. Cache is in good condition, plenty of greenery since all the rain. Half way out from the highway had a blonde moment when reached down to engage 4WD, to see we had the 2WD ute! Added to the fun. Track is in pretty good condition, so in 2WD made the find and returned to Alice without trouble or damage. Left a coin to encourage the next find. Beware the muggles camping down the track. TFTC
My first cache! It was an interesting drive out to the location through miraculously green vegetation. Made all the more interesting by our 2wd car! a very good introduction to geocaching!
Found by Ray and Maya at noon on the 14th of Sept. Easy find. We really enjoyed the drive in. We were surprised to be the next finders after our friends gahpee in June. We did some essential cache maintenance while we were here, replacing the container and washing the contents. Our container is very light weight, and won't last long in the elements, but at least it doesn’t have the hole in the side. TN, but left a Canada pin. TFTC. The Nomads.
We really enjoyed this drive and the cache was a definite bonus. Many thanks. TNLN

Megan and I found on our trip through Owen Springs where we spent a great night under the full moon in the river bed.
A day after arriving in Alice Springs the female half of 2lost_souls kindly took us on a brief 4wd tour of the Owen Springs area. Alighting from the vehicle it was obvious where this one would be and we were soon doing the caching duties along with Tronador. A nice spot alongside the first of many dry watercourses we were to encounter over the next few weeks.
What a spectacular park and outstanding scenery. Thank you to 2lostsouls for generously taking altaire and myself ond a personally guided trip through Owen Springs Reserve. It sure was fun 4WD ing. The ruins were interesting and approaching GZ it was obvious where the cache would be. The container is slightly damaged, ity appears that an animal has chewed the corner. Great place.

Was in time for the ranger guided talk at the old homestead. They only do them on long weekends in this reserve.
We picked up as much of the old log book as we could find and put it back with the container. Teeth marks in the cover suggest dingoes have been into to cache. A stronger container is needed.

Found this one during my 3 day stay @ alice with cachers Barrabup Sanctuary from WA and Laserman Sydney. We enjoyed Alice and its surroundings a lot and will come back again in the future.
When we arrived at the coordinates we found the cache scattered around, we managed to find about all the pages of the logbook and some goodies and put it back in the plastic box. We tried to guess its exact location according the hint but there was just scrap metal. we moved it max 4 meters from what we think was its original location to a better spot which is easy to locate from a cachers viewpoint.
After this all was done we got seriously bogged, but fortunatly we could free ourselfs an hour later thanks to all the rocks and a piece of corrugated iron from the watertank lying around.
All be all we had a very adventurous day and good fun.

Had hired a 4WD in Alice, after a trip on the Ghan. Decided we would try this route, then 1/4 way realised there was a cache there - bonus.
Great fun driving through here, southeast to nortwest. Outside temp rising to 45 degrees!
It was only after we stopped at the homestead we discovered that the vehicle was still in 2WD (the switch quite well concealed from the driver!) Still needed that high ground clearance though!
Wow - this must be the highest terrain rating cache the butterfly has ever done - her short legs usually prevent her from doing so. Cache was dry, well concealed. Left a kiwi badge and some butterflies.
Thanks

This cache on the other hand most definately is there and is still in good condition. Was a nice quick easy find (especially considering 'Lawrence')
Would be a great spot to camp for the night and considering how long it's been since the last find, you probably wouldn't get disturbed by many others while you were here either!
Cheers, TFTH.

This is my muggle friend's first cache. He did a great job finding it and may even log it. Did the log thing and left behind a thong... key ring. TFTC!
