it might take me a while, but hope to redo some time in next few months... might even simplify to make more cache traffic happen... after all there weere whales everywhere 3 weeks ago when we were there Big Grin

Just an update on this cache. At The first point there seems to be a bench seat that has been removed as well as a bush that has been uprooted - need to include these to get to WP2. Unfortunately @ WP2 the final piece of the puzzle to find MSN has been removed - only the base remains. So close yet so far for us.

Found It!
I tackled this one last year and couldn't work out why GZ was in the caravan park entrance
This year realised it was only a maths error and soon found the cache!

No whales seen today.

[8)] What a multi!
Did the first parts in the past few weeks,
but time gets away and other things need doing...
We got here on a perfectly calm evening,
so the view was magnificent!
Swapped coins, TFTC and the hunt!

Spend the day at Victor Harbour with my geohusband and geograndchildren Nutso and Raylee. I finally worked out the mutli after I made some mistakes. It took us a while to find it. We did not see any whale today. Sad Beautiful view.
Thanks voogoofish-nursesmith-gozling gang for the cache. Smile

Enjoyed the cache. Almost ran out of fingers and toes doing all the calculations. Had the laptop and 3G with me which helped. Co-ords were spot on making it an easy find. Didn't realise how close to GZ I go on my morning walk. 10m. If only I had known!! Had a lot of fun so TFTC.

What cache for our 60th find

Lots of counting and getting the geokids involved.
Enjoyed this multi, even if there where no whales, although we got to watch a seal at play near GZ

Took travel bug and crocodile keyring

Left starfish and butterfly maze

Pissed off! not a whale to be seen anywhere! I don't count sculptured tails, mosaic concrete ones, or ones on signs. 50 meters off shore indeed.
Apart from that, I really liked the multi.
Had trouble looking for round drains, until I read the rest of the sentance, and found I should be looking underwater - hey, it was very late in the afternoon - had a big day. Smile
As I was going in the other direction (bed!), I continued the multi the next day.
Footprints? Your joking! Could have been worse, (could have been raining!), might have been all the coloured tiles. Had to count a few times as my next way point seemed a bit far away.
Counted the same, so off I went confident that at least here I would see whales.
Sorry, did I mention the whales again (mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it).
A nice walk on a wild and windy day, and the cache was soon in hand.
Great way points, and a nice walk. What more could I ask for?
Thanks, Robmc.

I was surprized how far the GZ was from the fountain. I got well caught by pnq being before msn. My fault but it got me very close anyway and when I stopped to check things after giving up - bingo I was less than 50m from the cache. I took a srew driver and left 'Remove before flight' TB. Thanks gang.

Almost..........When counting one of the items at WP2, Mrs matmob's brain only goes up to 100, so she started back at 1 after the first 100, then forgot to add it on at the end Sad Mr matmob was too busy admiring the artwork and trying to translate the Pitjantjarara words to help [:(!] Didn't realise the error until the next day, by then we had run out of time. So near and yet so far! At least we have the correct co-ords now (we think!), so next visit should be easy Red Face

Beautiful walk along the beach. Had to rush back to meet the penguins though. No whales today.

After visiting the area back in Nov 09 and doing most of the groundwork for this multi it was good to finally be back in the area to make the find.

After doing the leg work last week we finally had a chance to track down GZ tonight. We often walk this area which is lovely but had no idea there was a final here. Acommpanied by Mr and Mrs A, Amara, The Hunta and SCC.

loved the math - got it right 2nd time as we made a mistake trying to do it quickly in the pouring rain first time round! great place for a visit - we saw whales in the bay today. Kids really enjoyed the activities this was our first attempt at a multi with puzzles... did it over 2 weekends due to the rotten weather! T-whale stickers L-bubbles

16-Jul-09
Started this one the day before but had to give up because of the rain and impending night. Didn't see any whales at the GZ but did see the biggest seal I have ever seen. Ran down to shore and took photos but best I got was a big fin waving at me.

We collected the first lot of information a few weeks back when we came down here for a drive, but we weren't heading in the direction of GZ that day. Today we were down in the area for footy, so took the opportunity to grab some lunch at the local bakery, and see if we could find this one.

We gave the place a decent search, but with the hint leaving us none the wiser, and nothing turned up, we had to give up in the end, and will have to return another time

07-Apr-09
3rd find of the day and 1836th total find at 19:16.

It's not often that we get to go caching this far from home, but as we are both very fortunate to have a couple of weeks off - - -. By good planning or design this cache was on our list.

One, two, . . . . Left, right, left. . . .

Well we have found ourselves at this spot once again. (We did 'Chickens' (GC1209P) here yesterday, and recommend doing the two caches at the same time.)

Found this one really easily, I guess that with two of us counting and re-counting we must have got the numbers right.

We didn't see any live whales today though.

Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks voogoofish-nursesmith-gozling gang for the cache.

Managed to knock off WP1 between my workshop and the dinner (very cold though)! Bushes don't seem to have any relevance - maybe the cache has been rejigged at some time. Water very clean so didn't have the problems earlier cachers mentioned. Visted beautiful WP2 after a long group breakfast at the Farmers' Market this morning. I must have miscounted somewhere along the line as I ended up at a promising GZ but no cache for me today. Too far to go back and check as I needed to continue on home to the Riverland, but will have another stab at this some time.

09-Mar-09
The bushses that need to be counted have been removed and the water was so dirty that the drains could not be counted - this may need a rethink.

09-Mar-09
Can confirm that some of the bushes have gone, but given they aren't even used in the answers, it doesn't really matter
The water is very bad though, and you cant see how many drains there are in there. None the less we took a guess, and were able to get to WP2.

All the answers gathered at WP2, and next time we are down that way we will grab the cache

26-Jan-09
We started this one a while ago, when the whale centre was closed for reno's. We discovered were wp2 was and popped in for a look. There were some muggles there giving Mrs ramp and 2 geo kids some strange looks when counting feet. We got the calculations correct the first time & found GZ with no problems.

Grabbed all the required clues, then muttered 'BUGGER' as I realised I had to return where I had just come from. Oh well. TFTC.

18-Jan-09
As we note from many of the other logs, this cache seems to take people a while to complete. We collected the information from WP1 over a year ago but were heading in a different direction. Finally got to WP2 late last year and calculated a gz but we couldn't find anything.

Today we returned in the company of CER and went through collecting information and calculations again. After the nearby event we came to collect this cache and our US visitor was the finder. Pleased to be able to finally collect the smiley.

Thanks voogoo and friends

Joined the stanleys at stage 2. Although, having messed up at least one count don't know how much help I was there.

When we finally reached the final stage I was able to make the find. A good thing because, unlike the stanleys, Aleene and I were not going to get a second try.

28-Dec-08
Started this one such a long time ago.
A weeks holiday in the area gave us plenty of time to finally finish this one.

01-Dec-08
This cache had us in a complete mess. After working out where we needed to be for the second waypoints, Mrs O'cholio had some problems counting feet; one should never assume. After Mr O had worked out the feet we realised that we couldn't walk to the next stage. Worked some of it out last night and cache found today. What a lovely beach. TFTC. Took Jazz Coin.

11-Nov-08
Found each stage on a different day, managing to screw up my final coords for today (don't know why but I've had a problem lately dropping 0's, e.g., so what should be 3000 becomes 300 - ugh). I corrected myself after taking a nice but unnecessary hike to an area along the beach with a number of long-dead rabbits, lots of sand, bushes and not a rock in sight! Lucky there weren't any rocks or I may not have realized I was in the wrong place. Big Grin

I left a super COOL coin in this super COOL cache. Thanks! (Sue-Cat)

09-Nov-08
Found this cache with froghoppin and have since created my own team name and currently logging previous finds after discussions with other cachers at a recent event TFTC

The black paint is peeling off the container, allowing the original bright blue colour to show through... May need a touch up to make sure it doesn't catch some muggle's eye!

06-Oct-08
Great Multi! Had heaps of fun finding this one. Found by Yu (again!).

Funny thing is, is that to work out the final co-ords, we used a calculator that we picked up in a cache earlier that day!

Thanks again.
Took Stress ball, left Army Man (Last one!)

A great hunt and lovely area. No whales today unfortunately. Left TB Mr Happy Face #2 TFTC

Very clever. I didn't see any ''real whales'' but I loved the way you linked this puzzle together. I've retrieved Hot Lips TB to move over to ''First Kiss'' as you suggested. TN else, L playing card and pterodactyl - the whale of the sky? |o} TFT gr8 C.

27-Jul-08
back online... in an oh so slightly different place to the first GZ, but so crazily close its not worth changing coords. even the hint will still work! good luck!

27-Jul-08
Dropped off "hot lips" which needs to visit "first kiss" not far from here in Goolwa!!! sorry, dropped it into here before realising!

22-Jun-08
it seems that it might just be gone (not to mention possible defication!!! Sad) will be down that way by the end of July at the LATEST... hopefully earlier.

21-Jun-08
We have been to this location twice now after repeatedly
doing the sums. We are sure the location is correct but no cache. Be very careful where you tread too. Some nasty
did not make it to the loo.

11-Jan-08
Pretty sure we calculated correctly and were happy with final coordinates and where they placed us. Clue seems to fit. No find.

11-Aug-07
Did the first two way point.
Spent ages at the second location gathing info for a cache idea earlier in the day only to realise that wasnt going to happen when I found myself back here.

28-Jul-07
DOh! All the clues made pefect sense but cache was nowhere to be found!

17-Jul-07
Visited first two waypoints whilst holidaying at Pt. Elliot - so much counting.
Unfortunately didn't manage to get out to the cache location.
Saw whales twice - once at Middleton in front of a place we stayed at a few years ago, and then swimming past holiday house whilst having breakfast.
Hopefully will complete on another trip down South.
Cheers

21-Jun-07
Did all the sums, but absolutely NO LUCK, SEARCHED EVERYWHERE & EVERYTHING. SIGH!
It was an interesting trip though, also, whales were sighted the next day, .

Post Script Note - Made A CLASSIC BLUNDER in my calcs, WHAT A GOOF AM I. No wonder I couldn't find it, It was an interesting trip, so I did like the cache, well done.

14-Jun-07
1115 hrs. First FFTD of 5 – and our 100th!
With local knowledge we skipped the Whale Centre stage and picked up the trail at stage two.
With some trepidation about our ability to count and do the calculations we arrived at the final GZ, and lo! We have been there many, many times over the years – it is a great spot in the summer to watch the full moon rise over the water.
TFTC Voogofish et. al.
No whale swaps so TNLNSL.

20-May-07
After a number of false starts we finalyy found the end of the rainbow. Trying to count the number of drains at night is not easy. We ended up with coordinates that pointed us to 23kmaway! Eventually wew just read the next lot of questions and used our local knowledge to go to the place where we could find the answers. But we still didn['t manage to do the maths right,k and had a lovely long walk along the bike track to a place with NO ROCKS before we checked it and then eventually found the lovely whale watching point that we required. Sat for a while enjoying. We had some learners with us today, so it was a lovely demonstration of the joys and sadnesses of caching. Thanks for the experience

25-Apr-07
Found 12:00. Day 2 of our Fleurieu Caching Holiday, 9th of 14 FFTD. Over two visits to Victor Harbour we had a whale of a time doing this cache, thankfully we had kept the coordinates from our last visit, would have cursed Mr V if we had to recount everything at WP2 Twisted. Reasonable quick find once at GZ, cache had been found by a 'muggle' team called the "The Halls" who accidedntly found the cache they even made some swaps. Took: Snake, Shell + Voogoo Badge (Eilish loves collecting them Big Grin), Left: fingerpaint, bal + Elephant toy, SL. Thanks for the great cache Big Grin.

25-Apr-07
A public holiday is not a good time to be caching in Victor! Wandered around the whale fountain but the water was so dirty we could not see any drain holes. Tried to make a guess but that didn't seem right. Will try again another day.

12-Mar-07
The Whale Centre is closed for renovations and you can't go inside. Hopefully it will be open again in time for the whale season but until further notice according to the sign it is closed.

25-Jan-07
First 2WPs completed and enjoyed. It was late in the day by the time we passed GZ so it's there for another day.

14-Jan-07
Found information at WP1, got to WP2 and had to wait for the teenage muggles to disperse before getting the required information. at 20:10 decided to leave the final assault of GZ until next time (Soon, promise! Wink).

PS. Did manage to see one Whale today Wink. Ouch, Mrs E just hit me!

06-Jan-07
I seem determined to make this one hard for myself. Revisited and grabbed the info. Got to GZ to find lots of great hiding spots but no rocks in sight. Back to the car to realised I had stuffed up the multiplication and left a zero off. Recalculated to head off again, still to find no rocks or cache anywhere near. Unluckily ran out of time to return to point 2 and check my numbers. One day!

29-Dec-06
Thanks for this great multi - we were down this way camping at Deep Creek Conservation Park and decided to let geocaching choose our destinations for day trips - this one took us to some great spots... Had to wait ages at GZ for two chatting muggles to move on so let the kids do some paddling in the water. Took gold rubber frog - left empty (dry) sea urchin shell.

28-Oct-06
Had a lot of fun doing this easy multi, and loved the places that it took us. Had read all the previous logs and checked out the hint already, so made no mistakes at WP 2. The final GZ was in a nice spot to observe whales (I presume?) but there were none there today. Thanks for the journey guys, cheers Big Grin.

22-Oct-06
WP1 was where we thought it would be.

WP2 was where we thought it would be.

WP3 was nowhere near where we thought it would be.

I for one was thankful as we had already come from my proposed GZ.

Then I was even more thankful for bringing us to such a lovely spot.

Perfect cache guys, even with some scary maths.

No whales today though. PS Where have all the whales gone?

22-Oct-06

There was no way I was going to count all those feet at WPT 2. Luckily the maths brain kicked in (and it wasn’t too scary either Freddy). With all the fuss, I did not look thru the telescope. Does it work with out paying?

A very worthy multi, with appropriately linked wpts. Lovely final spot, but alas no whales this time of the year as it’s too hot. Just maggies guarding the spot.

Thanks to voogoofish-nursesmith-gozling gang – left ball and took Astro keyring.
Clear skies from TeamAstro.

17-Oct-06
A good fun cache. Started this one about 3 weeks ago but only got to Stage 1 and then ran out of time so as Klem was taking Mrs K to Victor for lunch for her birthday, decided we MUST finish this great cache. The only whales we saw were rock hard. Klem was on fire today as he walked straight to GZ and picked up the cache. Left a penguin magnet and a klem bear (this bear thinks he's a fish so can join in with the sea creatures in the cache) and took the Down Under Koala TB to move on closer to Canberra.

Great multi that took Jfer, Mr W and I sightseeing around Victor. TNLNSL. Cheers!

Great fun with this one. TFTC. Got to see whales too! Took little red crab and left a "sea" snake and Iowa Tom's TB - on his way to Canberra but here to watch whales for a little while. Good Luck Tom.

Fairly easy find.Great spot and good veiws of the beach.Didnt see any whales todaySad
Took:lil moody TB

01-Sep-06
My inability to count to more than 20 (limit of fingers & toes) meant I first headed off in the entirely wrong direction from point 2, where I had seen my only whale for the day, and it wasn't moving much! After a very pleasant chat with a farmer, in a spot that seemed very Voogoo-like but was actually completely wrong I headed back and discovered my mistakes Red Face
Soon after I arrived at my new GZ and searched for ages. Was just beginning to think I had messed it up again when I spotted an odd rock & bingo Big Grin
Was definately a fun cache though. Enjoyed the views on a beautiful sunny day and the walk as well.
Left the 'Lil Moody' TB here to soak up the sun for a while.
Cheers Voogoofish & gang, TFTH.

Top Spot, Great view, Saw 2 whales. Very accurate details Big Grin left periwinkle shell TNSL TFTH Cheers

20-Aug-06
Stuffed this one up as we didn't print out all the clues and missed the "or" part. So took a guess but no luck on it.

2nd part was where Fab & me stopped and had a stranger take a photo of us a few weeks after we started going out. How time flies in a year!

Next visit will have to get the last part and complete the puzzle, thanks all.

20-Aug-06
Found at 4:30. Was meant to be our last cache for the day, before we headed home. TNLN. But since we were so close to another cache decided to do that one too.

06-Aug-06
Easy find on a beautiful 19 degree sunny winters day. All three geokids looked right at the container & STILL couldn't see it. Took the keen old eye of dogtired to find the cache. Wink
Took keyring & frog. Left whale & walrus.
Thanks Voogoofish & team

Found at 14:00.
Great cache to have lots of kids with you to do the counting (although foot-counting was extrapolated much faster than the kids' counting, but I let them check my multiplication anyway Smile). Found by one of the muggle children we had along: "what's that black thing?". They all enjoyed this one. Thanks Voogoofish.

19-Jul-06
If I tell myself that geocaching is equally about the journey and not just the destination, then we had a very nice walk yesterday !

A small oversight at stage 2 led to the longitude being out by about .4 of a degree. Lots of fruitless digging around under bushes ensued, with nary a rock to be seen !

Went back to stage 2, found my mistake but geowife waiting in the car had enough by that stage, so it was close, but no bannana.

thanks anyway for the enjoyable walk.

16-Jul-06
We were spending 5 days in the Pt Elliot/Victor/Goolwa area, and logged on to update gps before heading off, and what do you know a new cache too!
We actually managed to stumble across the 2nd point on our way to Victor and completed the answers. We then headed off to do some whale watching via the Whale Centre and grabbed a virgin cache to boot!
The geokid found it and it was only about 700m from where we were staying too!
Left some Whale Watch Hotline stickers and grabbed a Voogoofish badge for our collecton.
Thanks
