As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. GREAT hike among tall giants. Inside of cache is wet, logbook less so but paper is damp. Very straightforward find which we appreciated after not finding the previous one we looked for.
Ur right about the signal down here.. must be all the metal in that fake tree over there?lol...log book soaked and listed tb not present. ....
Challenging terrain after all Te rain yesterday. Picked up the only TB in there. TFTC
out enjoying a wee walk in this beautiful spot. nice we resting place and very quick cache find thanks.
Nice walk along the trail here with my 3yr old son. Nice photos with the tree. No Tb when I got here so dropped mine off.
Creepy place to be at night 0.0 it got pitch black by the time I got to this cache. And my phone died so had no light. I managed to find it though. Thanks
TFTC, grabbing the TB moving it to a more populous place, this place gets no traffic Also, the TB that I found doesn't match the one listed.

Was up in Auckland collecting caches with a couple of mates. A great day but my legs were sore after all the walking.
Out early in the morning with a few caches on the list accompanied by Nova Lightning. Quickly located while on our way to collecting a few caches around the Albany area

The Mini Future Finder was keen on a bush walk this afternoon and soon settled on this trail. We parked at the northern end and made our way along the wet track to GZ. We took a moment to gaze at the large Kauri before looking for the hide. Cache was immediately spotted out in the open. While signing the long the FF took a yellow golf ball and rolled it into the creek...with some gymnastic stretching I was able to recover the treasure, dry it off on return it to the container. On return I applied some natural camo to the cache. Cheers for the cache placement!
As suggested, the GPS was a little off, but the clue was very helpful

After walking the Okura to Stillwater walkway (and back) I had more time on my hand to find a few more caches in the area. The caches in this reserve were the last few I did today. I was pretty tired by now but had just enough energy for the ups and downs involved here. My very last cache for what has been an awesome caching day in Auckland. No trouble finding this classic cache. Thanks for placing and maintaining. TFTC, Biggles.
Logged this find while enjoying a lovely walk through this reserve. Thanks for the cache Adnshe.
Passed this cache as I couldn't approach GZ close enough. Found on the way back after having read the hint. TFTC
Today, we decided to return to Albany following the Mega weekend to grab some of the caches in the area that we had previously missed.
Luckily for the specific clue, this cache was a quick and easy find. TFTC

A quick find in an awesome reserve. We were just blown away by the nearby Kauri. Very majestic!
Had a bit of a chat with a local muggle walking her American Pit Bull. Awesome dog.

Another quick find here while on this trail with stretch.kerr. After signing the log, we continued on our way past a couple of muggles dressed in jeans and jerseys looking like they were having abit of trouble climbing the steps on a hot afternoon and not dressed for the conditions. TFTC!
Wow that is an enormous kauri in front of the seat.amazing. Thanks for bringing us here
Auckland Mega Event 2013. Saturday and a fantastic day of caching planned alongside KiwifruitsNZ with the objective of reaching my 1000th find during the weekend. This was find # 951 on that journey. TFTC
After spending time in a plane crossing the ditch, after time in the car visiting Hobitton, it was decided a walk was in order and this series seemed the perfect fit.
The hills were a lot of fun as we discovered Auckland can be quite hot and humid.
Thanks for the caching adventure

Out for a MEGA day of geocaching with Earthbound Chief & Co. Goodness me! TFTC.
First day of the NZ Mega event - a day which saw KiwifruitsNZ aim to secure 7 different caches in a day, whilst at the same time making the most of the Mega event (welcome bingo through to trivia to flashmobs to night caching at Muriwai beach!).
Thank you to Vamber and MuzzaL53 who accompanied us on many of our caches today - some good laughs and amusing stories that will prevail well beyond the event!!!!
Set off on this trail thinking it would a quick way to pick up a few caches. Learnt a valuable lesson about terrain and fitness levels! Was a good sense of accomplishment to secure this cache and others on the trail. A very scenic walk.

The gps is quite off at this spot, so I needed the hint for finding the box.
The huge Kauri nearby is really impressive.

Just where it should be. Unfortunately the cache is really wet, but the log book is still okay. We dried it out as best we could without our usual cache repair kit, but if the next finders had paper towels on them, it could do with a thorough mopping up.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We spent the afternoon driving around the Albany/East Coast Bays area picking up a few caches. We enjoyed the walk down to this impressive Kauri tree, before quickly finding the cache and signing the log. TFTC!"

fairly easy find along a great walk way.nice spot to rest right next to a gient kauri tree before a big climb up hill. Tftc
Great tree. Co ords 22m out for us but as for others the hint made for a quick find. Fantail and tui here and first evidence of them in the reserve. NINO TFTC
Decided to walk the track today from the Wrights Rd end, to gather up a few caches with the required D/T for the licence thingy we are working on. Phew coming down was ok, but a bit more puff needed to get back up there. Never mind good work out. Magnificent Kauri, still neat to find these out in the bush. SL. TFTC.
GPS was WAY off, so while looking for the clue on the phone we sat down on the bench, cache said it was some 28m away, but it was in fact just there. Majestic Kauri just in front of us, shame it has to be in danger of such a terrible disease. Make sure you scrub your shoes on the way in and out of the reserve, tftc
Out with evilno9 this way to tick off a few caches this afternoon in this trail. We decided to walk from the other end which gave us some walking through the bushes. Met a few walkers on the way but no one where we wanted to be. Easy find!

Came in the long way and parked at option B and walked to the opposite end before back tracking and picking up the caches along the way. Had to stop and admire the awesome kauri first before ducking in and grabbing the cache. All nice and easy - and a pretty cool spot too. TFTC
This was a great find, and the walk was really nice. The kauri are just awesome! I didn't sign the log book, due to the rain at the time of finding it. TB in, (Oink Oink). I added a bit more covering to it, as it seemed a bit light on top. TFTC!

Ran through the bush today to replace the log book, removed some of the junk and add some more goodies. Will replace the container next time I am passing.
Unfortunately this was the last find this afternoon as gps finally gave up the ghost. I'll get the last one from the other end at a later date, as it seems to be close to a road. Its quite dark and spooky now and iv'e got one hell of a walk ahead of me back to the top road.
Enjoyed the steeper walk down to this one. Our four year old had no trouble, just a bit whingy going back up!
Carried on from the new Albany Scenic Reserve #2 cache - a nice walk to "Surprise." Found the cache rather exposed but left it a bit better covered. Thanks.

Was on the way to this cache when spotted by MavSyntax geocachers. Was getting dark so a quick walk and cache grab. SL TFTC
Good to do a nice walk after all the micro's and nano's in Wonderland.

Wow, what an amazing walk this is. Sure is nice to have these gorgeous places on our doorstep. Shame to see some of the kauri being destroyed by a bacteria of some kind, but great to see Doc onto it. Scrubbed and sprayed shoes with DoC disinfectant as directed upon entry to walk
Looks like there has been a bit of flooding around GZ site lately, but cache still there TFTC

Nice to find this area in Albany. However, the cache is wet and we had to dry it out, it needs urgent maintenance. TFTC

we've been looking to the entrance to this reserve for ages, so great to finally have an excuse to find it. slippery walk but well worth the trip. we walked B to A then back round by the road. excellent stuff. and amazing kauri. tftc
Found immediately during walk through Reserve while doing OSM mapping in the area
Track indeed muddy in places and these park tracks could be better maintained!
TFTC and a good hint!

I can see why the cache is called Albany's Scenic Surprise. It was as much a surprise to me as Mrs Trout-fly that I made it up that hill. I might try the longer, easier way next time! Thanks.
Took the longer way, absolutely stunning reserve - another jungle in suburbia. I really enjoyed the walk. The log is a bit damp. TNLNSL cheers
The walk to GZ took a bit longer than expected as kids wanted to rest a few times. Great big tree near GZ. Quick find at GZ. TFTC
Is nice to see the large number of kauri trees doing well here.
