After receiving notice that one of our path tags was found corroding away in a cache we were not familiar with we had to come and check it out.
After reading all the previous logs I have to ask, "Why are people afraid/reluctant/unwilling to use the 'Needs Archiving' option?" this cache has been Listed as needing maintenance for some time, the co-rods are apparently out, and the owner hasn't been online GC.com since April 2010! It's a prime candidate for archiving.
The use of the Needs Archiving option isn't you deciding the cache is going to go, you're just informing the Groundspeak Volunteers that they need to take a look at this one.
It's their decision ultimately.

Used to live near here and wanted to do this one.
Read logs and decided to try these co-ordinates provided by FourW with great results.

Used alternative co-ordinates for a nice quick find.
Had to drain water from container, took pathtag before it corroded any more and replaced container with opening downhill and hope this will prevent too much water getting in. Newish log still almost dry.

Fell over, looked for an hour. Too much wet long grass, will come back in summer.

A really hard slog in the wet grass, and like previous cachers, the GZ is in someone's backyard. We even tried up across the stream at the tree with no luck and gave up, so can the co-ordinates please be updated. Thanks.
Searched long and hard for this one but no luck. Will try again when the area is drier
This was hard to locate, we couldn't find it, the GPS co-ordinates seemed to want us to go inside a fence which was private property, with a big dog!! we did look around the area but with no success.
Couldn't resist! Geoniece and I were heading home, our water reserves expired...but just one more cache on the way... We carefully picked our way down to the creek and toward GZ. Like those before us, we realised the local back yard was unlikely to be the cache host, despite the co-ords, so we took a couple of steps back to assess the area and quickly found the likely spot - retrieved cache, signed log, left pathtag, took nothing. TFTC
Like I think all before found listed Co-ords are in someones backyard, after checking logs noticed a set of Co-ords posted by FourW plugged them in and had the cache in hand within seconds.

An "interesting" cache with an "interesting" history.
As with many others, GZ was apparently in the back yard. My coordinates were S34 49.206 E138 39.152. (similar to a very early post).
I came in from the top side so never saw dog-friendly conditions. Wondered what the mouldy dog-biscuity thing was till I realised it was the old log.

#449 Yes, bit of a bush bash and care required on steep slopes. Like others, my GPS said it was in someone's backyard but I did find it - 16 metres form where GPS said. Thanks Scouts_honour.
A big adventure for sure. A rather 'interesting' area that caused me to doubt that I would find the cache. However, walked straight to it, signed log and got back out with no trouble at all. TFTC
Out for a bit of exercise after xmas, fine day, not many people around TNLNSL TFTC
Walked past gz quite a few times before we thought "let's try behind there" thanks for a bit of exercise walking up and down a hill early on a Saturday morning!
we tried using 3 gps's and all of them had them in the same spot, the cache was far away from what the gps said, luckily i was just walking back bcoz we had given up and i said to my friends, let me see whats behind this and there it was,
it was a big fluke

Hubby almost went bum up here thanks to people dumping their garden waste where ever they want. So I went around the area carefully and I did go bum up......sporting a very sore arm now, and thinking tommorrow I might need an xray lol.
But we found the cache, thankyou.

Out with Someuser night caching only to decide upon walking half the way that this is a day cache, not for night caching! Least of all with wet slippery grass around!
found with dennisc52. not liking this place sorry to say . hope something happens soon. TFTC
Found it in the company of Fishing Pole Ninja (FPN). Not impressed by the state this area is in. Obviously left to the dogs. Located cache quickly, even though my gpsr took me 13m from gz, and got out of there just as quick. TFTC.
An easy find although took the long way down from top of the hill after locating another cache close by.
Didn't realise the creek was so steep in parts.
Lived in area 30yrs ago so brought back happy memories.

This was our first find, we are hooked. we did not sign anything cause the pen didn't work.
Threw this one in on a whim and paid dearly for it. It requires careful reading of the logs, something which would've saved me two visits today and a third to finally go and find it.
Found it tonight. Tried it last night coming from up hill and GPS took me to wrong spot.
Tonight came from creek level and made the find easily. Thanks.

To much activity around and a couple of people watching the area from the balcony so decide not to attempt will try again another day.
Started out to do this one and all of a sudden there was muggles watching over their back fences and the dogs went off... Maybe another day....
We made a thorough search of this hillside, but never found anything. Looking at the freshly mown grass it is likely to have been scooped up and cleaned away.
No luck on this one today. The field note says crap but I'm not sure if that means because we didn't find it or that there was rubbish around.
we probably found the most difficult route to the Cache, but hey we found it so we are happy! Contents a bit damp.

A little damp but able to sign.
Bag was broken but put it away again.
Luckily the girls were carrying the babies as we went the shortest way down the hill.

wow when I read this was a nice park for a walk I had no idea what I was getting into, beware of the snapping turtle down at the bottom. tftc,tn.ln. sl. Netdrifter and pedro messy.
An interesting walk along the creek line. I'm not convinced that it is a dog 'friendly' area despite the signs! We were barked at by every dog along the way and there sure were a lot of them!
GPS was pointing me into the back yard too, but a previous log gave me a clue as to where to log. Picked up a redback with this cache. Gloves would be a good idea.
Second effort on finding this one - was way off the first time on the GPS. Had a experienced mate give me a few pointers to help me out.
Left my pen in teh car and pen in Cache would not work.

Not quite in the location expected good hide great find...took Doggy doo bag left key chain
No Luck with this one - GPS had me pointing to a private back yard. searched the fence line and under/around any rock I could find - grass was geting long. Toungh one - will have to "phone a friend" I think
A quick find on our 2nd attempt. GZ was in backyard again. No water today and lots of grass now.
I was heading out to do some lunchtime caching close to Adelaide but got called to a house fire at Modbury so used the opportunity to grab 3 caches on Day 333 (Hurray - it is a record ) out near there.
Did a bit of scrambling to get down there but found it in the end. There is evidence of water lapping the cache container. TFTC

There was this strange movement in the creek bed. Something we have faint memories of, oh, that's right, it's called flowing water!!!!!
Our GPS had GZ in someones backyard, but a quick search of likely places soon had the prize in hand.

This cache was located in the 'back blocks' with reasonably steep terrain. However, if you're hungry while on the geocaching trail, there are plenty of fruit trees ready for the picking.
Contents of the cache were slightly damp.

found it after wondering if it's in private property as the fence was half torn open. Nice hiding place, but I was in constant fear of snakes walking there. Anyway, didn't log as the container was water logged.
Found at 3:50 PM. Had a bit of trouble locating GZ, it seemed to be on private property, but Nanna came to the rescue and showed Poppa how to find caches.
Log book was very damp, still OK, but wouldn't want to be any 'damper'.
Interesting location. TNLN TFTC

Easy find. I actually thoght I was following a fresh geotrail, but turned out not to be. The long wet grass soaked my shoes through. Cache is still in good nick.
Thanks.

Found with O'Cholio and Fitzy. Very easy find. Log is damp as are the rest of the contents. The log needs drying and placing into a bag without a big hole in it. Cache camoflague improved.
Accompanied with Everlasting and Joan. Finally found it which made us very happy.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Come back and Lava12 found it... Accompanied with Lava12 and Joan. The log and items are so wet... SL. Thanks Scouts_honour and Team Willy Wallies for organising the cache and hunt.
Search everywhere - only I found the running shoe??? So would be great if the owner check up. Thanks for your time.
The hardest part of this was the walk down, then back up again !
Quickly found. Cache log book and contents are all soggy and require urgent attention [xx(] before they all go mouldy .
Took nothing.
Left barrel.
SL.
Thanks Willy Wallies - Certainly somewhere we wouldn't normally go to [B)].

After having had a DNF on this one before I was a bit apprehensive ovr attempting it in the dark but decided to try anyway. I read all the logs and punched in the updated coords included in one of them which proved to be much better than those actually with the cache.
I made the small trek in expecting to have to search a bit but this cache positively glowed in the torch light as it was quite exposed. The insides are really damp and smelly, with the logbook almost unusable. I placed the logbook inside another plastic bag and then back into its original bag aswell in an effort to keep it dry but it needs some time out of the cache to dry out.
I replaced the cache under some rocks near the fence line.
TNLNSL (well sort of signed log)
TFTC (I think)

Found it thanks! TNLN. The cache is getting pretty damp - the notebook is just about had it and the whole cache is very damp - may need a new container, sorry we did not have one with us - too busy trying to dodge the snakes in the long grass -- ewww! some pretty quick action happening. Thanks again - Sauce head and Lulu the Wonder Kid.
We let the gps lead us away from the home route after Christmas dinner with relatives. Nice little adventure at the end of the day. Log book and pen are wet and we didn't have the resources to fix. Thanks
The Noodler and the Geokid found it while the Geodog stirred up the local hounds. 100th find. Took fire patch, left opal.
Cache seemed to be further away than the GPS thought, but we still managed to find it just inside our 5 minute limit. Cheers Gav [1560]
Kiwi Cache Raid: #163 @ 19:05. Hadn't intended to do this cache today but realised that we were running out of caches to visit and this was pretty much on the route. Coordinates were a bit out for us and cache is wet. Many thanks Scouts_honour and Team Willy Wallies.,,,,,,,,,

7:05 p.m. This cache was found on our record-breaking attempt to find the most caches in a 24 hours period; we ended up finding 195 all up.
Thanks to all the cachers who placed these interesting caches in Adelaide.
I only wish we could have spent more time appreciating the locations that we visited on our whistle stop tour.

Having almost walked to GZ, I surveyed the terrain and had second thoughts about proceeding having reviewed previous logs, especially as I still had my work clothes on. In light of previous cachers logs I would like to request the owners of the cache to consider relocating the cache such that it is not necessary to cross over the creek bed to log a find. Have therefore logged a DNF!
team A at 4:20 pm
mmm still no easier this time around, one wonders why we missed it last time eaither i'm getting old or the difficulty/terrain rating is slightly wrong, almost-mountain goat country.
