I had 4 solved puzzles I was targeting today after attending a CITO in Rosewater earlier.
After a DNF at the first and a find at the previous two, I was hoping to make a find here too
Parked within about 50m of a likely structure where the hide could be and walked in.
Pretty much spot straight away.
Back to the car for my elevation device and up I went.
Log stamped and all returned as found

This one has been on my hit list for a while. Just needed time to devote to solving it. Took a bit, but got there in the end.
Nice use of the telescopic levitation device.
Took a while to spot but found camouflaged away. Great log with a bit of history in it.

Another D/T coloured in.

I enjoyed this cache for a number of reasons and we were all pleased to find these while we were in town visiting from Tassie.
Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.
This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.
Thanks for the cache.

We all had a damn good laugh once we spotted this cache. The safer option of a TOTT was used and the cache quickly signed.
Nice one Zytheran
The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

An impromptu visit today when I realised the taxi in which I was travelling was going close to this one. Alas I could not see the cache, and when I tried to pull myself up, my work shoes slipped and down I went. Not harm done. Just some damaged pride.
Hopefully I will return one day, with better shoes or with a ladder or something.

I have been past this cache many times but never got around to stopping, stopped here tonight and after a short climb I had the cache in hand
Tonight Davidwazza and I headed out to collect a few caches around the northern area. With the days slowly getting longer it was good to get out for a walk in the wetlands

With daylight savings activated, the evenings became like half days to me after work, and good excuses to explore areas deserving of light, yet quite close to the city. Subsequently, I joined gridge98 as we chose to visit the northern area wetlands just next to the salt plains. An enjoyable walk, although we did collect a number of grass seed prickles that I needed to spent half hour when I got home to remove every one from my socks and shoes. It was then on to a few random suburban caches that we both needed for the calendar day, before a final stop at firesafe's *Remembering our Fallen Firefighters* Adventure Lab.
It had been mentioned to me about this cache location on a few occasions whilst driving through here, but hadn't solved this puzzle nor had the chance to stop. Tonight, [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) was keen in clearing this one, and so we ventured into the structure. We looked around a fair bit from the ground, and nothing was seen, so [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) did what the terrain rating suggested, and very quickly found the cache. Wow, that blended in too well that I thought it was part of the structure! A great location and nice adventure hidden from muggles, so a Favourite Point from me, thanks Zytheran.

I am not a great fan of ciphers, although I do tackle them to solve puzzles. This one wasn't so bad.
However, the final coordinates have sat in my GPS for a very long time without progressing any further. I have visited, or attempted to visit, GZ on quite a few occasions to try to make the find. However, each time I have been thwarted. The first time, which was a few years ago now, I clambered about but could not see the cache and decided I would need to return with some additional equipment. More recently, about 18 months ago I returned, again without the equipment, but this I time spotted the container where it hadn't been before and I couldn't reach it. On three occasion since I have visited with the required tool but have been muggled out - the first time by a police car stopped in the parking area; the second time by mowing in the area; and then by another vehicle parked there.
Finally today I stopped by with my equipment early in the morning and had the area all to myself. It was a great relief to finally get my name in the logbook.
Thanks Zytheran for what proved to be a relatively straightforward puzzle, but a less than straightforward cache!

A little while ago we had cause to visit similar ciphers in another location so came back to these series to tune up and was reminded to put them on our to be found list.
At GZ the hide was soon spotted but the mower muggle had to be waited out and the we made like spider man before the mower muggle came back for another lap. We completed the signing duties and re hide. TFTC.

Many times we have passes this cache and pointed out the "we still need to get the cache over there". After a successful city night caching run, we called it a night and was heading back home when the timing was right, today was the day we shall get that elusive cache!
Easy to pull over and park, carried our hoisting pole and Miss.B saw something a bit different, up went Mr.B, whilst SA Sewerats and I held the ladder on the wet grass. Cache was in hand and stamped.
We left very happy !!
Glad to have finally marked this one off our geo map!

This is another of the Z caches that seem to have been in my solved but I found list forever. Today I was driving past with Brisal5 and he offered to stop so I could come and find this one.
I quickly spotted the cache but hadn't bought an elevation device so decided that the climb was the way to do it.
Brisal5 provided an initial step up and up I started. Not an easy thing to climb up, but it's almost a ladder. However, the sheeting on the structure is very sharp where I was putting my hands and I managed to slice through the skin in two fingers. Cursing the CO I did managed to continue upwards until I could reach the cache container, which was promptly thrown to the ground below. That followed by me making a very rapid descent. Sort of a semi-controlled fall, until the last bit, which wasn't controlled at all and I fell back and landed on my butt on the ground with my back leaning up against a pole.
After leaking a bit of claret, the log was signed and Brisal5 kindly offered to return it to its spot while I went in search of the band-aids.
Thanks for the cache Zytheran. Found on 14 Mar 2017 at 12:34 pm. Find #4077.

I am slowly working my way through the cipher series with a little help from the interwebs and my friends.
Tonight on the way to an event with sir_spectre we stopped off to grab this one. Thankfully we had a very agile Tomboy who made the retrieval for us, and stayed there while we signed the log.

found this with jj52 on route to the Seven Scorpio's event. I do like where you put it away from muggle eyes. since I was wearing tight jeans not the usual cargo pants tomboy got to the cache just as I finally got on the structure.

Early morning traffic and not knowing the area we had wondered where we would park, lucky for us a nearby business no longer operates and we used their driveway, very convenient.
We knew it would be high, so when spotted we were not surprised. Hubby got down on his hands and knees, what a gentleman, and I climbed on board. He rose and I reached, success. The lift lowered and we signed the log. A reverse of the above and the cache was returned. SL TFTC

This puzzle gave me a lot more trouble than it ever should have for some reason. Eventually I managed to get some words out that made sense. Than today I was travelling past so I stopped and after a quick search, found the cache! That's one strong magnet to - I've sure Freddo would approve of it...

I had a lot of trouble with the cipher, but I got there in the end.
I also had a lot of trouble with "V" and "B" so I was looking for something that I was sure wasn't there (which indeed it wasn't), but a bit of a rethink fixed that issue, especially after some help from the geoson's friend ("There's one of them back there" "Really" "Yes, I'm sure")
Then I had a lot of trouble with looking but not seeing, to paraphrase Mr Conan Doyle. Hidden in plain sight, indeed.
Thanks Zytheran, two metal cipher series today. On to Silver

MM+2 solved this one a while ago when just starting out and solving puzzles. This series was invaluable for some of the puzzles we have encountered since. But we never seemed to be in this part of Adelaide. Geodad was heading up to another puzzle cache when he noticed something looked familiar on the side of the road and so he pulled over and went searching. After a wander about, the cache was spotted and the terrain rating became obvious. I managed to scramble up, but I cut my knee on something and couldn't return it as high I would have liked, so can the next finder place it back nearer the top (and thank me for making the grab slightly easier!).
Thanks for the cache and the lessons Zytheran.
Many thanks to the CO for the explanation of the various ciphers involved, it's made my attempt at improving my solved ratio that much easier.
Had read logs and came prepared for an easy retrieval. Loved the way I was hidden, for the most part, from the passing muggles.

When at university some time ago, this Walrus' post-grad research touched on ciphers and cryptography, and I was lucky enough to work under a supervisor who was renowned for both his theoretical knowledge and practical experience with computer security (of which cryptography plays a significant part). Cipher Tin was actually the very first puzzle I solved back when I discovered caching, but I still haven't actually laid hands on that one, mainly because I'm mostly a solo cacher and don't trust myself not to screw up the climb/crawl on that one.
In the past I had chosen not to progress through this series until I had placed hands on Tin, but I guess tonight I couldn't wait anymore and after about 15 minutes had a solution of sorts. Then it was off to Google Streetview until a highly likely candidate was found. Returned some caching favours and brought 3LG and locus cache along for the ride. TFTC Zytheran!

Was settling in for the night when i get a message from RTWG that he has solved a couple of puzzles, i was invited to join and who can say no to that, i was given a insight on how this is worked out so now my puzzle solving knowledge has slightly expanded, time to see what i have learnt and see where this knowledge takes me. i have been past this place many of times and admired its beauty, tonight i get to see it even closer.TFTC
I was getting ready to go to bed just after 9pm when the phone rang and I was asked if I wanted to go find a cache because RideTheGeoWalrus had just solved it and he could not contain his excitment!
After some indecision (well, I was heading for bed early because I was sick!) I made up my mind that this was too good an opportunity to miss.
Brodie and I jumped into Harry and headed off to GZ to watch RideTheGeoWalrus locus cache.
3LG turned up as well and so we had a party that went all over the world
I am so glad that I have clever friends who can solve these puzzles...as well as having time to spend on them too! [^]

A quick find but a walk back to Harry for the magic geo tool to allow the retrieval of Cipher Bronze and RideTheGeoWalrus quickly had the cache in his hands.

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. I remember solving and finding Cipher Tin (quote an experience) but don't remember solving Cipher Copper. If it existed it may have helped me solve. In the meantime, I've been making a concoction of Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Well, did the last finder put it up there OR throw it up there. Never mind, a tiger will do what I tiger does best. TFTC Z.

Four hours solving the puzzle ...
One hour searching for the actual location ....
20 second climb ( freaked out by the spiders, gave me extra adrenaline )
Then a 10 second log.
Everyone says watch the spiders, yes I agree but a fly net would be great as well! The bloody things were everywhere!
Thanks For a fantastically amusing cache and series!

Well, the cipher was a bit harder than Cipher Tin, but thankfully the retrieval was a good deal easier! Still was a bit of a challenge though! Must have missed a character in my solution as I approached GZ looking for a large ear!! Anyway, I soon spotted the error of my ways and made the find. Thanks for another fun cache Zytheran. Solved Silver so must go and check out the terrain!
Came back armed with Plan B. In, logged, out, all within a couple of minutes. Plan B worked well.
Now to tackle Cipher Silver.
Thanks Zytheran

Thanks Zytheran for another lesson in ciphers.
Solved, then went to GZ. My reaction was "are you kidding me". Just like Cipher Tin, so close yet so far.
I decided to go away and come up with plan B, whatever that might be.

Heading out for a wander about the Redhill area so dropped into the GZ with Blinky, Mogni, and Brisal5. Quite a little climb!! Thanks Zytheran for the hide!!
After a bit of disappointment at tin ( I reckon I could have got it without dying, but apparently there wasn't much faith in my ninja skills) we proceeded to the gz for this one. Not much risk of death or heights, brisal5 will do it.
Brisal5 has been steadily working through puzzle caches, I help where I can. I am good with ideas A great challenge. Thankyou (I think )
Headed to town with Mogni and roguewatermelon to sus out some metal cipher series and drop some TBs along the way. After finding GZ for Tin and not making an attempt after deciding some geo aids would be useful (safer). We drove to Gold and now have clues to start deciphering. Then onto marked start for Silver as I was stuggling with the code word. Bugger all here to help! Onto Bronze. Quick spot for Mogni and with a boost from the rogue I was the human fly hanging out with the spiders. Could you sign a little faster please? I can't see what's in the finger holds! Thanks Zytheran although you have addicted me to puzzle caches!
Gotcha.
What an excellent cache for our 100th find! It wan't even deliberate. I'd lost count.
Solved this cipher, along with a few others, a few weeks back, but this was the first chance to get out and find it.
Finding GZ seemed easy enough, but I was looking, ... looking, ... looking... Hmm... Where is that little tin?
Internal compass must have been a bit wonky. "Not that North! Your other North!"
Look again. Ah! There it is. But hang on. Nobody said it would be guarded!
Bit of a scramble and that little tin was retrieved, log signed, and replaced.
Thanks Z.

found it ages ago and at that time it took ages to solve and 2 visits to actually find it so with all that effort how did i forget to log it.
Mrs TiedyeSmileys had done the hard work on this some time ago and we were just waiting for a convenient time to pick this up. While going on a Munzee hunt today, we decided to stop by this cache on the way and finally find it as well.
Mr TiedyeSmileys nearly had his head in one of those big suckers hanging in their web there but managed to dodge it enough to grab the cache.
One down, a whole bunch more of solved puzzles to go out and find.

Another metal cipher cache retrieved. This one was not quite as adventurous as silver and gold though. There were plenty of arachnoids about and our eldest was a bit freaked out. But the cache container was not quite in a 3 star position and all creepy crawlies were easily avoided. Unlucky for the next finder though as I practiced a little cache creep and put the container about a meter higher [xx(] whence it probably came.
Speaking of unlucky, must have a closer look at Cipher Electrum..... Any hints master Z?

We had set about solving adelaide puzzle caches a few months ago in preparation for a week's holiday in the region. No puzzles in the barossa and not too many easy to get to puzzles around handorf and with only 1 full day in Adelaide itself, not much chance of getting to many around adelaide.
But this one was on the way to the barossa, so we had to stop.
After searching all the cob-webby places, we took stock and saw the cache watching us.
Our first SA cache.
Thanks for the series and the cache Zytheran

Found at 11:30. This cache took a fair bit of working out. Probably about four hours of brain-strain over a couple of days, and eventually I came up with something that looked right.
Not knowing the area well, I resorted to Google Earth and Nearmaps to try to make some sense of it all. It didn't give me too many leads.
Nothing left to do but try a drive-by. VICTORY! Found the location easily... but I couldn't stop in time. Fifteen minutes later and loads of driving, I was able to grab the prime parking spot.
The cache itself was a quick find, whilst dodging muggles nearby.
Thanks for the brain-strain and the challenge, Zytheran

There was one thing solving the puzzle and there is another for us out of towners to know what it meant. We resorted to a call to the Zytheran who gave the general direction to whcih we needed to travel to find it. Arrived at GZ at closing time which was good as it would have looked strange with so many people in there!

We initially thought this would be a DNF, but one of the group put in a call to the master and after receiving some covert intelligence, we were led to a likely area. We were glad to have plenty of friends to help us with this find. TFTC Zytheran

Err, the previous logs tell the story and highlight that the SEQ puzzle solvers kicked off in the wrong place... &km's away from GZ as it turned out... We were quite convinced we had the right area and spent quite some time hunting every possible hidey hole once there...
a DNF at that stage, Lochb called Z and asked whether we were in the right area... NOPE, we were nowhere near... A nudge from the master sorted us out though and after finishing our feasting session, we were on the road to the final... [^]
GZ was not so busy and we were able to dissappear away from the traffic to make the grab
Nice hiding spot Zytheran, cheers...

Our initial solution had us accepting this as a DNF after a protracted search...
Luckily for us LochB opted for the phone a friend option and a quick prompt from the 'Puzzle master' had as on the road again to a revised location taht proved much more fruitful..
Quick scramble by a more nimble team member soon had cache in our hands where we added our mark

#44 day 2 on SEQ puzzle solvers Adelaide trip. Had this solved but lack of local knowledge proved my downfall. I assumed GZ was around somewhere totally different so we wasted some time there before realising it just couldn't be right. Continuing on our way, hmm maybe that might be something... probably not. A PAZ to the puzzle master himself gave us a much better area and from there it was easy! Thanks zytheran
Found with the SEQ puzzle solvers. Our coords were definitely wrong, see my previous log. Contacted the owner who fixed our mistake. Cache found quickly then. TFTC and the puzzle!

I had steered away from finding these metal ciphers thinking the final hides would be unwise to tackle alone but so far they have been no problem at all. The only problem here was that I was muggled out of here by the presence of a mower man on Friday but today when I returned I had GZ to myself for a really satisfying find.

This was our second visit - the first being far from successful as we had concentrated our search in slightly different spots. It's quite easy to see when you know where to look! Found with BantamCT. Thanks for the cache Zytheran.
A nice training course in cipher breaking. Solving this one has paved the way for a couple more solutions so it's been a big help. Finally made the trip to GZ today and made the climb, only to be disturbed by the gardeners riding up to us on a four-wheeler, enquiring as to whether we were graffiti artists scoping out their next visit. We reluctantly had to give the game up, but they were alright with it. Fun retrieval! TFTC Z.

Just gotta find the time to pick 'em all up.
This one was a beauty. I'm keen to get stuck in and mess my head up with some more of yours.

Took a while to crack the cipher and locate GZ but got there in the end. GoogleMaps and StreetView eliminated some of the run-around. An easy find – the first step is a bit of a stretch. My first metal cipher cache. TNLNSL. TFTC Mr Z.
I solved this one on a year 7 camp back in 2007. The kids had (mostly) gone to bed and I was up late keeping myself amused while I waited for the rest of the whispers to stop. This was my first introduction to this sort of cipher and have since encountered quite a few like it. While in the area today I had the opportunity to find it although in the rain it was a little difficult getting a foot hold. Fun spot to retrieve it from though.

Set off from home an hour earlier to do a few northern caches, but had a call from work when about 1km from home. Had to turn back and check out some things.
Finally got going, and I remembered this long outstanding find. Josie said she didn't know where the object I described was, but suggested a likely alternative location. We checked it out and there was the cache.
It turns out that there is only one letter B in the deciphered text, and if you use the letter V instead you come up with a valid word but the object doesn't exist. This explains why I've driven up this road so many times without finding the thing as described. To tell the truth, I'd never noticed the correct object either.
So, finally I have the whole metal cipher series, and a great series it was.
