Quick little find after a trip down a very bumpy road. I wouldnt suggest bringing a 2WD here unless you have high clearance. TFTC
Found while visiting Port Lincoln, camping out overnight in Lincoln National Park during a trip to Eyre Peninsula. Thanks for the cache The Suthies!
One good thing that has come out of the Covid situation, is the need to holiday in your home state. With a week or so to spend away, we decided to head to Port Lincoln - a place we had not visited before. Our first day in the area was spent exploring Lincoln National Park, and what better way to find all the interesting spots, than to find the caches which had been hidden.
This was a pretty little cove, but our visit was spoilt a bit by the flies that would bite us the moment we stood still and GZ being littered by toilet paper.
This was a pretty little cove, but our visit was spoilt a bit by the flies that would bite us the moment we stood still and GZ being littered by toilet paper.
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Coffin Bay my next destination is Port Lincoln which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for better weather soon I don’t mind it being cool just not rain showers when you are out and about.
So I set the van up at Surfleet Campground that is in Lincoln National Park yesterday and today is a new day so it was time to explore the South West area and the weather is finally looking good.
Made it back to the entrance of the NP to start from there and headed back in and it is very easy to park without the van on.
Since it was such a beautiful day and getting very warm I put off the hike till tomorrow morning but it is a shame there is no cache up there anymore but I did foolishly walk from coveman 2 to this and the next one in the heat luckily I remembered to take some water.
This has been the nicest day of my trip and it is good to get some sun and not the wind and rain.
A beautiful part of the word along here and the coastline and beaches are spectacular the water is so blue and the sand so white.
I soon located this one and added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks The Suthies TFTC.

First for the day and it's always good to start with a find .
Came over the hill along the walking trail, not realising there was a much shorter way at the time .

We decided to walk from Cove Man 2 for this cache. A bit of a search after a lovely walktftc
Camping in the area and took a ticky tour around to find the geocaches within a couple of km from us... A reasonably easy find thanks to the carefully placed cover TFTC left a Twinkle Star
Headed from Surffleett campground for about 2.5km to find this one and it’s neighbour. Little cache but well maintained, TFTC!
Found yesterday 6.10.19 while Spending the weekend in the Lincoln National Park with Redmond. Sitting on spading cove beach out the wind. TFTC

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Camped up on the hill behind Port Lincoln, today, it was time to explore the Lincoln National Park.
We singled out 14 caches, and found all fourteen of them. all in good order, except for one - details on that page.
After a bumpy ride in, this was a great spot to stop for lunch
Arrived at GZ to obvious hole and obvious cover, but no cache. After sitting down to lunch, we decided to replace the missing cache with pill bottle amd fresh log
I hope the cache owners are OK with this. Thanks The suthies for the hide and location

Day 3.
finally made it to Port Lincoln. Stopped in there for one cache then headed to the information center to book my national park pass and over night stay in this park. Spent all that day and some of the next getting all the caches in the national park before heading off to memory cove for the next day. It was windy but nice weather for my stay in the park. Nice walk to the cache. nice views of the bay too. quick find at gz.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
Visiting Port Lincoln we decided to spend the day in Lincoln NP exploring. All was going well until Mr Felix took a tumble and hurt his back, so we aborted our mission and will have to return another time.
Added a new logsheet here.

Nice brisk walk from Surfleet (?) Camp. Cache is very wet and will need tending too as we walked we had nothing on us.
Found it with Celia. Thanks for the cache and the nice place.
There is water on the box.

Cache container damaged at the bottom and the log is damp, I tried to dry it out a bit. Lovely area, swans were on the water nearby. TFTC. TB not in the cache
Day Eleven of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747. Today we wandered around the Lincoln National Park, checking out all the little camping spots, beaches, and of course, caches.
On our last afternoon in the park and we walked from Surfleet, where we were camped, to the caches on this beach - a really nice 2.5km walk.
The camping area that should have 4 sites had more than three times this, but the cache was placed before the muggle fest started (thanks for that)
The container is a bit damaged on the base, and probably should be replaced.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7805. Robmc and I are spending the day in the National Park today and we intend to find some caches, go for a bike ride and a return walk to Spalding Cove.
Walked from Surfleet Cover to this one. Found quickly but the container needs a maintenance check as the bottom has been chewed through by some local critter. There is plenty of room still on the log sheet but it is damp because of the hole in the bottom of the container. Maintenance check required.
Thanks The Suthies

A stroll through the empty campgrounds revealed, yet again, just how many people come here to wreck the place
Such a pretty spot, with a nice beach and camp facilities ...
... yet covered in toilet paper, and rubbish
Some recent campers had obviously come out here for a drunken party and despite carefully bagging all their rubbish, just could not be bothered taking it with them
And they wrecked a lot of trees to build some sort of stupid tepee by the beach
More like cave men than cove men !!
Anyway, the cache was a nice easy find
TFTC and visit to a potentially nice place.

On the road again, using caching to guide us to the sites as we explore the state on our way to the Murray bridge mega. Damp log, the razor fish shells are huge here. Tftc
Camping at Coffin Bay, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
Today, we headed out to the Lincoln National Park, and picked up some caches along the way.
The cache was found quickly, thanks for the hunt today, The Suthies.

Pelicans sleeping at the water's edge, which was quite a way due to low tide

This was one of the best spots of the day. We had our lunch at the convenient picnic table before Mr S went off to find the cache and then we walked to the next cache. One family group were camping here but they were way up the other end of the beach at the time.

Thanks for this cache, as we may not have come walking this far otherwise, and would have missed out on a very nice walk. Beautiful blue and warm winters day, and the water is blue and peaceful too. Great spot. Lots of weed though, which was misleading. Much less where we eventually found what were looking for. Can't understand why its been so since anyone else has been here! We found a golf ball where came down from the track, so left that in the cache.
Awesome location
We will be back to camp here please dont tell anyone else about this location we want it to ourselves !!!
Thanks Suthies
Favorite point for this one!!

Found at 3.25pm GAFF1. We enjoyed the drive out here and it seems as though the storm has quietened down unless this the eye of the storm!
There were was a couple setting up camp and they even had a fire going - good luck keeping that alight with the forthcoming storm.
Thanks The Suthies - a nice area to highlight.

We started heading for this one in line with the advice from number two then after a short stroll along the track through a few webs Iwe met a couple walking fron the other direction. I quickly asked them if there was a way in by vehicle from where the had come from and they kindy gave us directions.
What a wicked secluded beach, I'm sure we'll be back here, wicked spot, and awesome weather.

Pleasant walk from Surfleet Campground. Struggled to find and the additional hint did not seem to apply?. Anyway...found in the end at this fantastic ocean side spot, thanks for showing it to us.
Was here before but the GPS was so far out i went to the wrong spot by about 200m. Got it this time.
I looked and looked but didn't find it. I noticed the hiding place so I thought it had been gone. Took a photo and decided to walk around again. I sat down to sort out my stuff and looked aside and there it was. How could I ave missed it the first time?
So I went for stage 2... that was an easy find.
TNLNSL, thx... good one

Couldn't find this looks like a land slide has possibly covered where it should be???
Well we searched high I on top of the cliff) and low (in the rocks and sand below). There was no sight of the cache and we spent a good half hour turning over ever rock and checking under every tree and inside every bush. There seems to have been a lot of land slippage lately and perhaps it has fallen victim.
Well i looked and looked but come up with nothing. Maybe next time i will try again if someone else can find it.
spent day in the park with eugetree could not find i believe a land slide may have taken this as there appeared to be no obvious spots will try again another day
Logged from my phone using the Geocache Navigator by Trimble. Well we couldnt find this one walked in from the investigator trail (felt like 10 kms but only about 1Km) and then could not find the cache only to turn around and see a car in the carpark (still asking so why did we walk) DUH.
Have forgotten to log this find until I went online today to log others. This cache took some rock scrambling. I had two eager 5 year olds in tow and was going to give up until I thought I'd look a little higher. Some prickly bushes made life difficult but on I went!
