Doesn't look like we will be able to resurrect this one any time soon. So long and thanks for all the finds.
This cache needs checking because the bird hide was destroyed by a fire this week.

well after the surprise of the previous 2 being so newly new here.. and just happened to be in town for the day.. it was nice to polish these off with a great walk around. cheers.. time for a beer.
Took us a few times to find the correct path into this cache (to avoid that now read the Parking Co-ords). The walk around the swamp to the hide was very pleasant. Not too many birds around today, they must have too many other places to go (apart from the two ibis's and the seagull at The Bird Hide, of course!)
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
You can no longer drive into it but it has now been replaced. See parking coords for closest access.
Went for a ramble along the levee bank (from the Patchell Bridge end) to the location of the cache (which I had found last year). Its structural location survived the floods quite well and access is OK with no detritus or water issues, hough the grass may hide 'slippery ones'. However, once at GZ the cache was nowhere to be found and in its location was a Rats Nest, (or they are very large Mice being fed on performance enhancing grasses) upon which my probing finger 'disturbed' them and me! Checked outside but could not see cache or any remnants. It appears newer signs have been placed at GZ and this may explain cache being muggled, perhaps? Whatever the reason appears cache AWOL. It's a fine location for a cache, so hopefully we shall see it back in play soon. Bring your Camera too, there is a variety of birds feasting on the water's bounty at present.
An enjoyable walk around the Loddon River and its Swamp adjoining Kerang. Terrific to see the water levels so robust with the increase in flora and fauna as opposed to my last visit 12 months previous. A clever hide in a much underrated location. Bring some insect repellant as the Mossies were having a conference during my visit and must have thought I was a meal time bonanza. My appreciation to the 'The Morris' for the informative and enjoyable caching notes and of course caching experience. TNLN. TQP
I tried walking to this cache this morning
Nobody mentioned high tide [:o]
I got about 20 metres along the walking track before giving up

This turned out to be quite a walk from where I parked the car and unfortunately when I arrived and found the cache the pen had disappeared. This was even more difficult as I did not have a pen with me either so instead of signing the log I took a photo of the cache to prove my find. Maybe when the cache is serviced my details can be entered in the log. I have forwarded the photo to the owner for verification. TFTC.
after walking not driving we still didnt manage to find this one...perhaps better time next
The owner visited today and was able to drive in one way and out the other - the only barrier was the first access point near the highway. The road is fine for all vehicles. Disappointed to see the previously well stocked cache only contained 3 items. Cache page updated.
The cache owner might like to change the cache notes to reflect that you cannot drive upto the cache. There are 2 access points to get to by car, one point is 500m from cache and the other is 600m from the cache, both are at the start and end of the walking track.
Both of these points are not suitable for vehicles with caravans on.

A lovely swamp but not that black. Blue skies and plenty of shade to shield from the hot hot sun. A bit of a long walk - looked to drive around the barriers but decided to do the right thing! No shooters/ no red flags today.
Clear skies from TeamAstro.
It was a long walk today, through swarms of tiny black flies. Very uncomfortable. Once we got to the hide - it was lovely... No flies and a great assortment of birds. Thanks for bringing us here.

6th find for the day of 16. Number 6 of 61 for the trip. Heading to Mildura to watch the Leonids Meteor Shower from Lake Culluleraine, and then on to SA for some interstate caching. Also part of our Tri-State caching run (Vic, NSW, SA). Thanks for the cache. SLTNLN.
Tricky hide. Found with Blacklegend17. Find number 6 for the day on our way to Lake Cullulleraine to watch the Leonids meteor shower.

Found at 11am whilst on our way home from holidays in Swan Hill. Nice walk, shame there is no water.

Found on our way to the event in Mildura. We arrived in Kerang just as the sun was setting, freshened up and went for this cache on dusk. The walk in was very pleasant - no birds, but heaps of frogs. The cache revealed itself after about 5 minutes in torchlight. This was a nice hide hide.
Thanks for the cache.

Spent a good 30 mins looking with new geocacher, soon to sign up as "Lettuce" (don't ask, I didn't) Search in and around, hign and low but couldn't find it, plenty of muggle evidence, might need checking. Nice walk anyway.
Had a good look but could not find. Distracted by my sister ringing perhaps but gave up about 25 minutes. Worth the walk anyway.
Didn't have the option of driving to the spot due to the road being closed, but it was nice to get out for a short walk in any case. Mrs O came up with the idea of searching in the right spot, while Mr O did the hard work and retrieved the cache. Signed and placed back. TFTC.
Easy find, but no birds cause no water. Lots of three corner jacks though, I spent a few minutes picking them out of my boots before getting back in the vehicle.
After finding my way into the swamp finding the cache was much simpler! Actually I lie, it was hidden far better than I was expecting and it took me a while to find. In fact, in the time it took me to find this cache a building burnt down in the main street of Kerang!
No birds around, perhaps the sound of me cursing the Morris name scared them off?
Cheers,
R - B

The hard part of this cache was finding a way in. We thought we were in for a long walk but luckily found a way to drive in. Once there it was found by the long arm of VP4 We swapped a pig for a fish and were on our way north again. Caching can really increase travel times. SL TFTC
Easy find once we managed to find an access to the area! The shooting signs were a bit concerning, but there was no shooting at GZ today! Pity about the zero water around here. SO, thanks.
1121h Back in town for Christmas. I remember when-as kids-we rode our bikes around here. Showed Dad what this latest trend is. TNLN.
Pleasant walk in to this one. Only a couple of people around today. I think there would be more birds if there was water in the swamp...hopefully it rains soon. Had some trouble finding the cache, it's difficult to get to! I took and left something but I can't remember what. May have been a truck.
Found this one with the family (Wife and two year old twins) On the way back from a Holiday in the Mildura area
We found our 13th Morris cache at 2:10pm as the 12th of 23 on route to SA. We had planned to stop at Kerang for lunch but on arrival, we found that the whole town was closed. It may have had something to do with Kerang being in the Grand Final in the football. We continued on to this cache which took a bit of searching before I finally chose to look in the correct place. Thanks for the cache from D,H & A B-A.
A good day for a walk. Looked under then looked over and only in between was left. Where would I hide it..
Just where I found it. Left Diabetes TB. TFTC.

I ended up walking around the swamp but no matter as it was a nice walk despite the swamp being dry. At gz there were three likely places and the cache was duly found in one of them. Thanks The Morris.

An interesting location but oh so dry. With a cold nor westerly blowing it was freezing so we welcomed the protection of the shelter. Hmmm.. no girly magazines today but a cache was found after an extensive search. We suspected something trickier but we were wrong! Satellites had the GZ 12m north of the cache site today.

1000th cache for Irac-
Road was flagged off so walked about 1km in.
Found some girly magazines hidden similarly to cache so hope the stasher doesn't look any further.
took eye mask, left frog
Thanks The Morris
Did we mention this was our 1000th cache (well logged anyway)

Found by Ray and Maya at 1:35PM on the 22nd of March as we stay in Swan Hill for a Square Dance function over Easter. We've been to the Murrabit market today and are taking in the scenery as we wend our way back to Swanhill by the long route. TNLN. Thanks from The Nomads.
It was time to head for Kerang and a brace of 3 caches awaited. I struck it lucky on the approach roads and soon parked within striking distance. I was fairly sure that no birdwatches would be in attendance and I doubt the cache will be accidently found. Thanks to The Morris
Nice area we have travelled past here for years. Be even better if there was water back here again.

Seventh of nine cache finds for the day on our trip to Swan Hill to visit Mrs Acts2YG’s Grandparents, the cache was found at 16:45. Mrs acts2YG was not keen to drive in when she saw the shooting signs, I convince her it was ok and we were soon at GZ, only trouble was I could not retrieve the cache so I sent for the young bloke who was like a monkey and soon had the cache out of its hiding spot for me. There were not too many birds about, may be due to the dryness of the swamp. Thanks to The Morris for the cache.
Thanks for directing us to a hidden natural treasure. Was mid afternoon so not many birds around. Word of advice to future visitors: Take aeroguard, the flies drove us nuts.

Found by Mary & David at 1735. We actually found a Morris cache straight away, so that cheered us up a little after so many disasters back in Bendigo. A beautiful spot and some water about for the ducks to enjoy. Superb bullrushes made us think of Moses. Dropped off 'Finder Fox' geocoin. Our thanks to The Morris.
Our third and final The Morris cache for the day with fullonphil and Emily. Fullonphil drove up the track first as we were towing a trailer full of fireworks equipment and were happy to find that it was only the last little section that you would have to back out if you intended to drive down it. We then proceed to make this more difficult than it needed to be, and after about 20 minutes fullophil came up with the goodt

Found by Roma and Max.
GZ is a well constructed building and perfectly suited for the purpose it was built for.
However, although we could hear birds, they were no where to be seen.
The container was cunningly hidden and took us a while to locate!
We left the usual Mondo Figurine and took a Danger Lanyard.
Thanks The Morrs.
