Logs

I was recommended to go and check to see if this cache was alive by the last finder, locus cache,

I got to the location of the first part and that part was really easy, the clues were there, but the paper was no longer inside a safe container I’m guessing it was kept in (some it was there, but not the other side), the paper is still easily readable, but the paper was starting to disintegrate as it was open to the wether (though the only parts of the coordinates were the E itself and part of some of the numbers (but you could still tell what the numbers were easily).

We walked to the location through the Water SA site as my half muggle friend (you’ll hear her part later in the log), had not appropriate shoes to bushbash today (and we were going to dinner at 7:30 in Hahndorf, so we needed to get this one faster then slower.

We walked to the location where we had to leave the path, the half muggle friend, was reluctant to come at first, but once I scoped and said that the shoes would make it easily through here (small wispy strands of native grass to basically nothing meant there was nothing to worry about, compared with the previous cache find earlier. We got the the cache location and I spoke to Kaye who said it was under a big log between a big tree and a little tree,

I found that log, but before it it had a recently zip tied weird coat thing to a fallen branch, and Kaye said that wasn’t part of it.

I asked Kaye what was the size of the container and she said a large sistema (she wasn’t wrong too). I kept looking at the log, but unaware to me my muggle friend, had started doing some directive work herself, I was about to tell Kaye, actually I was mid saying it had gone, when my half muggle friend yelled out I found it.

I started to let Kaye know that it had been found about 10 to 15 m away approx. while getting to my half muggle friend, Kaye was saying that the cache was old and the coordinates were old and it could have been wrong, but when I got to where my half muggle friend had found it I told Kaye that I had hit the money on the jackpot the first time at the location, only that it had been tampered with, Kaye wasn’t fully getting it, but mid way though one of her sentences when she saw the photo of the cache container and it’s contents sprawl all across the ground, the tone and talk changed.

I signed the logbook which was very hard to open anything over then the plastic covers as the paper had obviously been out in the weather for a while, as the pages had self glued themselves together, I then collected the container and contents (the actual container, other then the lid which one of the corners is missing a hunk of, so not weather proof currently) together and put it back as best I could out of prying eyes that will want to do more harm than good for the poor cache, and then we headed back to the car,

I have added all the photos and provided as much evidence as I could to hopefully give the CO a fighting chance at getting this historic cache unarchived if possible as it could have been MIA when the cache was last tried to be found, and then dumped out like the photo, or for at least the to maybe to be reborn as a new cache. Anyways all it really needs is the first part to be reprinted and put into a new case. And the cache just either needs a whole new container, or a new lid at least, and the inside paper parts to be replaced due to water and UV light damage.

I have added the photos to this cache so you can see what condition it was in, except the the first photo, so people can still try and find it without cheating.

Thanks Locus Cache for recommending me to see if this cache was actually there, and thank you to my Half Muggle friend who actually found the cache.

Thanks Geo_Stik for the cache

found WP 1 about 2 years ago with a couple of geocaching ladies that now live in northern territory. We didn't get to the final that day due to needing to get to a geocaching event at least only " a little " after it started. I have now been permanently transferred to the little Hampton batch plant. So i am clearing out the multis one by one on calendar days i need a multi find ( and that i am not doing 10 + hours). so far 212 days out off 366 multi finds. I nice short walk to the final through the scrub. Happy to say by the time I finished work the rains had finished for the day. quick find. I also found a man made object on the walking trail to gz that I am going to modify in to a cache or at least cache cammo.

This Multi has been on my radar for some time now having gone to Mt. Barker so many times and done MultiCaches there, i though it was high time i knocked this one off Wink

Went to the listed co-ords and searched around for the micro with the needed co-ords but i couldn't find anything. I sat myself down on what looked like a seat but was actually the foot platform for getting over the fence lol Big Grin It was then i spotted it out in the open on the ground [:o]

Entered the co-ords into my GPS and re-hid the co-ords in the nearest most obvious of spots out of the weather [^] [Not on the metal sign]

Off i went to the final to make a quick find of a brittle container that is still holding up to the elements ok Wink

After faffing around at home after a lie in I eventually headed out for a big day out of caching in the hills. First stop was Earthlights event and then headed around the wetlands to pick the caches up there. After that avenged some prior dnfs and picked up a few caches in Mount Barker. Also paid a visit to the bakery for a nice pie.
After that crossed over the freeway and did some caching over there. Had planned on picking up the OTD September series but left the 4WD ones as the road was very wet.
All up found around 35 caches and had a great afternoon out.
Even better was to return home to a lovely tea cooked by the husband and a clean kitchen!
Was quite chilly and windy in the hills but thankfully the rain stayed away.
Back to this one to see if I would fare better than last time. Had been given some intel at another event of where to seek the micro. Crikey how did I miss that last time?!! It was then off to GZ where it took me quite a while to find the nicely hidden final. TFTC this is a good multi and nice to see an old one lasting.

30-Jun-19
With an excessively rainy day the day before, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to do a bit of geoaching around Littlehampton and Nairne. It was a cold and at times, wet day, but we think we timed our outside activities right in between spells of rain. We did a small walk around the dam at Totness Recreation Park, collected various geocaches around Littlehampton, and then headed to Nairne to see some of the murals, before calling it day before we were able to complete that respective multi-cache.

At the posted coordinates, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I spent ages looking around for the micro container. A specific location just kept looking so good for hiding something, so I reckon I checked that 3-4 times in detail, and of course each time, nothing. Kept looking around, and we were encouraged by the previous finders who said they located it within a metre of the coordinates within a few minutes. I was about to prepare to make a PAF when I checked something, and finally, saw the container. The micro container is not in good shape, and had to spend a bit of time trying to keep it all together to place back.

We made the short walk to GZ, and within a few minutes, the nicely sized cache was found. That seemed to be in pretty good shape. Thanks Geo_Stik for this oldie cache.

Cute little park with a micro that almost had us stumped at the first way point! Found on our wet and windy day caching around the hills

17-Apr-19
That time of the week again, the menagerie of puzzled animal's Wednesday wanderings. Today with one of the troupe missing due to Husband duties it left the Rat, Korf an Adder to seek the elusive hides. The target today was Nairne and Mount Barker. We suggested calling in for a coffee with our missing member of the group but Mrs. Sewer Rat thought it not a good idea as poor Mrs. Brisal would probably not enjoy the company.

We were concerned about finding the first waypoint as mentioned in previous logs. The Adder dropped off the Rat and Korf who started to search while the Adder safely parked the car.

That done he returned and within a minute or two the waypoint was found right at GZ where the GPS said it was. Info recorded and entered into the electronic device it was a pleasant 'ish walk to GZ. No hoons around while we were there but a few arguments with nasty bushes entailed.

Nice easy one close by for my first multi Smile. Took trackable as it is time for him to move on

19-Nov-17
Out for an afternoon's drive, stopped by your cache.
Came again and this time entered the right coordinates as found at WP1.
No idea what we did last time, but these ones made more sense,
and after a short walk a cache was found.
Left a recently freed trackable that spent 6 months in the last cache - let's hope it moves on quicker from here!
Thanks for bringing us here Geo_Stik , and thanks for the smiley Cool

We loved doing this multi, very clever.

Perfect location for the starting point, and then a short, but lovely walk to the final GZ. Such a beautiful day to go caching.

Out and about with Ozibags picking up a few caches in the Adelaide Hills before attending the SA Geocaching Awards. Certainly a fun time was had! Wink

Thanks for the multi-cache Geo Stik Smile

Find # 2789

Over in SA for the TDU and once again Mount Barker is our base for the week.
After being up in Lyndoch to watch the riders on the first day of the TDU. We were back in camp with enough time that I decided to take the mountain bike through the tunnel to make some finds.

Got to Wp1 and after a bit of a look around I soon found the cords for GZ
As bikes are not allowed in the area, and seeing that I was all alone, I had to get my bike over the fence and walk it through to final GZ.

Owl collected Sushilord for a day of caching and enjoyment of natural surroundings. The plan was to only find caches neither of them had done before, but Sushilord insisted on making an exception for this one. Owl is glad he did, as it was a very pleasant walk to a decent-sized cache. That's what caching is all about!

Found It!
I started this multi that long ago now that I still have a paper print out of it from back in the days before paper-less caching! Today I finally got around to finishing it! I had to come in from the NW corner today as the road up to the start point was closed for roadworks. Nice little park that if not for caching, I would have never knew existed!

Was not in original and obvious spot. So we have moved it back.
It was under a growing prickly bush.

Nice bit of scrub.
TFTC ps. It needs maintenance. Old wet log book inside. Still one dry to sign - in a snap lock.

This is actually the second time I've come here, the first was with Chickenoo when his enthusiasm to show me what Geocaching was all about spurred us to find this little cache! We found it after a few goes, but we also found this gorgeous little park and a love of going caching together and exploring places we've never been or maybe even have been, but not really seen. I'm not counting this in one of my 31 days of caching for August, but rather to replace this little caches broken and damp box and log book so others can keep enjoying this great activity. Thanks Geo_Stik for this cache! Much love and happy caching MummaChook! Smile xo

Final cache for the afternoon. Seemed a busy location when we first arrived, a man walking a streetsweeper turning around, another 4WD pulled in and a few cars going by. Once they were gone it didn't take long to serach the likely spots to come up with the coordinates. Another bush for life site! Followed the paths through the nice area and an easy find once at gz. Ah - sweet success!! So chuffed to find this one at last after many unlogged visits while passing on my bike. I looked all over for the first clue then figured I would have a walk round to see if I could spot any likely hiding places. No luck and back to the start. I'm sure I looked there before...hurray! I was tickled to see that gz turned out to be only 2m from somewhere else I had looked already. Lovely big box, swapped in some bigger Scottish swag and replaced safely. Glad it is chilly today as I wouldn't want to risk meeting a snake - we're not ready for that yet! TFTC!

home early and brisal5 was looking miserable about going back to work the next day. CACHING!!!!!! left a tb. also, DON"T RIDE YER MOUNTAIN BIKE THROUGH HERE. My last day of holidays, the Rogue finished Uni early, sun shining = caching. I overlooked the first way point but luckily younger eyes rechecked where I had looked and we had GZ loaded. A great little walk in a bit of scrub i never knew existed. Got to the first point right as the nearby primary school was getting out so the road was busy with muggle mums and dads picking up their little terrors.
