Thanks for the cache, JackHenry

Note the checker needs to be updated and link no longer works.

A nice little puzzle that brought us to a very busy spot in Adelaide. I was accompanied by the lovely micaparamedic who'd come to Adelaide to see me, and then late this arvo we started our drive to Victoria so that I could attend a number of events, have Christmas, spend time with friends and of course to do some caching! Cool

micaparamedic put his hands on it first.

Thanks so much for the cache JackHenry! Smile

Was in the neighbourhood, thought I'd find your cache.
Thanks JackHenry for putting it there.

This is one I solved a long time ago. And one where I have ridden my bike past GZ too many times to mention. One of the few disadvantages of Cachly however is that the corrected coordinate caches show up only when you search in the area of the posted coords. In this case they are far enough apart that I had kept forgetting it was there.
But not today.
I stopped and crossed over carefully and found it in the first spot I checked.

*Grabbing a cache or two to maintain my current streak*... Big Grin

**Found en route to the G'day from WA Event** This one had been sitting in my GSAK for many months so It was good to finally 'tick' it off... Cool
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment JackHenry... Appreciate your efforts... Big Grin

**Took**: *Nothing but photo's*
**Left**: *Nothing but foot prints*...
Stamped log... Cool

solved this one a while ago but due to my database being temporary lost in a computer crash then not being entered into my gps, the finding part was delayed. Near gz my phone rings, its my boss. He ringing to see if I have broken down and need a lift, as he has just driven past me. As a result I forgot to date my log as I signed it ( left stamp in car ).

21-Jan-17
Decided that it was a lovely day for a drive in the hills as I had nothing else I needed to do, so what better way to spend the day than to go and find a few puzzle caches that I had solved. Big Grin

By the end of the day I had driven 250 kilometres and went as far north as Mount Crawford forest and south to Meadows. Surprised I had an interesting day driving on some great back roads and seeing some amazing scenery. Cool

This one was the first for the day as I had plotted my route before leaving home. [^]

The puzzle was quite easily solved after I found the correct info to decode the symbols (I am still working on #2 & #3 and have only just glanced at #4 Surprised)

Took a while to get to GZ but when I did the cache was found in the first place I looked. [^]

Thanks for the puzzle and cache JackHenry. Smile

On the way home from a caching run in Murray Bridge and I remembered that this cache was hear. So I quickly pulled into the nearby parking and made my way to gz. A quick search of the area and the cache was in hand.

Stopped by with my little geo daughter, ended up carrying her across to time a break in the traffic.

Found with my dad whilst out driving around. Had to carry me across as there was way to many cars. Thanks

Found It!
After a similar puzzle in Estonia this one came out easily. Today I was going past GZ so I stopped and after waiting for a break in the torrential rain I ran over and quickly found the cache! But magnets like that would make Freddo jealous!

15-Jun-16
Over ten months since last found, but this cache is in great condition. Wandered up to GZ after parking nearby late at night to avoid as many muggles as possible. I was surprised to find three plaques nearby that clearly mark things that no longer exist (a garden and a row of trees) but the rocks and bronze still remain, likely because no one knows they are here. I suspect they would be gone otherwise.

I admit I've looked at this one on and off for many years and always been stumped, but last week I found what I was looking for, and now I know more about the subject matter than I ever thought I would. Eventually I made it to GZ and after waiting briefly for a break in traffic, worked the very strong magnetic cache out. TFTC JackHenry!

The font used in this puzzle is now becoming quite familiar as it has been used in a number of puzzles. That led to a set of coordinates which were confirmed by Evince. Early this morning as we were heading up the Expressway to prune more of our son's and daughter-in-law's apple and pear trees on their block, we stopped to look for this cache. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks JackHenry for the puzzle and for the Mission series of puzzles.

Mission #1 accomplished!

This cache kept our run of 28 days of consecutive caching going. GD had only a short period of time to make a find today and this one had been held back as a safety cache in case we needed a quickie. We hadn't looked at these puzzles until a few weeks ago as we have been trying to clear up the ones closer to home. But we came across the "Mission" series by chance and luckily Missmoo's Mum is a fan of the relevant resource, so we made short work of this one. Still struggling with the rest

Super magnet on this one! I must admit I like these older puzzles when you don't know where you might end up (especially if it is close to home).

Thanks for the cache JackHenry

They say Adelaide is a small place.... Have to agree after reading Calumping Fours comment about ancestor.... My 3x Great Grandfather was the first manager of the building and another geocacher friend said his ancestor built it.... Small world!!!

Anyway, this was the chosen starting place for a day out with Doctor Owl. We grabbed this and left a car nearby.....interesting place to be a pedestrian. Grabbed a photo for the family tree, have been meaning to do so for some time so it can be ticked off the list....

Thanks for the cache, and the opportunity to stand where my 3GG used to spend his days......

02-Dec-13
Owl was waiting for Spidermonkey to arrive so they could start the day’s adventure, so time to duck across the road and grab a cache. Then the lady of the hour arrived for signing and photos. That’s one tough magnet and a very strange version of a gate!

23-Oct-13
Finally after all these years I can eliminate this cache from the GPSr.
Hate to think how many times I've been past over the years (not that I frequently go this way - but wished I was heading off on lots of travelsWink)
Took a photo nearby for the Waypoint that is here and paused for a moment in memory of an early ancestor of mine who helped establish the building.
As I wasn't flying past I could also pause and enjoy the view of the city and out to sea too.
Must get around to getting another Mission as it's been many yeas since I found my first Mission out North.

Clare007 and I met up for a day out to do something unusual ....... geocache Wink
By day's end I had locus cache'd 33 smileys Sad and had 3 DNFs Sad
All in all, a fun day out and some cool caches were found Cool

Thankfully, I know many sci-fi lovers so in the end, for me, it was simply a case of traversing time and space to make a quick find here today.
Finally I can now say that I have a smiley for THAT cache which I had long known of but never been able to get before.

My sister and Iworked this one out this morning and had to come and find it. What a great spot and cool container. I knew what I was looking at when I saw the description I do enjoy that show. Didn't choose the best time to collect this cache but it wasn't to bad, thought I was in trouble when a police car drove past but I hurried out of there ASAP. TFTC

Out with brisal5 clearing up a few of the puzzles we had solved, as there was little muggle activity at 11:45 on a Sunday night, we went for it. A quick final find.

Out with Mogni doing some puzzle caches and anything in between. Heading home toward GOTH country and second last puzzle. Even at just before midnight on a Sunday night this is still busy. Quick find at GZ but I wonder how many people rang the police when they saw us HERE. Thanks JackHenry Big Grin

First link i found had the code i needed, solved within about a minute, can be lucky sometimes! Smile I was going to head out this way so solved this puzzle but ended up being much closer to home. Saved it for a quick grab tonight, to fill in a spot on my calendar! TFTC, a good spot and an easy find.

My mission, if I choose to accept it, is to firstly figure out what those damn symbols mean. Not being much of a SciFi fan nothing came to mind quickly BUT being an avid TV watcher (sport mainly) you are bound to bump into something useful eventually.....eventually.

Felt a little exposed at GZ but whose gonna stop and ask you what you're up to. This recording will self-destruct in 5 seconds. Mission #1 complete. TFTC JackHenry.

06-Jan-12
I love a puzzle when I look at it and straight away know what to do. A quick solve (because Mr Tardis is a SciFi nerd) and off to GZ which I've been driving past since I begain caching. A very good spot indeed for a cache. SL. Thanks for the puzzle.

28-Dec-11
We were not planning on picking this one up today but, after failing in picking up some clues nearby, we decided to call in and make an attempt.

Lot's of passing muggles meant the GPSr was employed a a FPD (Fake Photographic Device)to enable the retrieve and return.

13-Nov-11
always wanted to put a cache here and wondered why there wasnt one here now i know why

07-Nov-11
Was out with a Bee and frog and we discussed the possibilities of putting a cache there...only to find one already there.. so signed the log.. but wont take credit for solving the puzzle .. so.. half a smilie! Smile

30-Oct-11
Did not solve this one at all, was driving past a likely spot and wondered whether a cache could be put there and a previous finder at a event said there was already one there so we had a look and was rewarded with Mission #1, not the orthodox way of finding a cache but still a successful mission TFTC JackHenry, now we will have to solve the others the orthodox way

05-Aug-11
The Mission (Should I choose to accept it): Make an emergency dash to a client with Foreign currency General Ledger integrity issues.
The reward: another opportunity to drive past a couple of solved puzzle caches.

The mission was accomplished and the bonus caches were netted.

Heading to Adelaide with Mr Coffee and the Coffee Clan for a few days caching and to attend the first Pub lunch event for the year and this was the sixteenth for the day. We solved this puzzle quite awhile ago now but this was the first opportunity that we have had to stop and grab it.

Had this one worked out a while ago and had the chance to find it today. Quite exposed area with a lot of traffic going by. Pretended taking photos with my back to the traffic hiding the arm taking and then replacing the cache. Thanks JackHenry for the interesting puzzle.

11-Sep-10
It took a lot of staring before those symbols finally made sense and morphed into a set of coordinates.
I got quite a few curious stares while signing the log too... not many places to hide there!

I'm becoming increasingly familiar with this alphabet, not enough to decode things off by heart but pretty close! I dodged a bit of traffic to get to GZ but the location was fitting with the theme. A neat little hide too, simple but effective!

I didn't have as much luck with the rest of this series on my trip, but I hope they're all as fun to complete.

Thanks,

Twenty-third of 128 finds on "The Big Adelaide Assault" in company with acts2youthgroup and HawMorFords. We found this one at 0337. Yet another puzzle that we had cracked before coming over. Acts2YG recognised the symbols straight away, and we soon had the final coordinates. I've driven past GZ on many occasions, but this is the first time I've had a reason to stop. With no idea what the symbols meant it took a while to get started. Wasn't helped by a lack on good photos showing their use where I though I had seen them before. Eventually found a listing of what they mean, with no thanks to Google.

Found the correct symbols which were easily deciphered, made our way to the old mine to capture a car park, once the car park was was in the bag we proceded to GZ to capture the real thing, the race was on to where the arrow was pointing and the cache was in hand log written in and my first mission is now complete.

Hope I don't self destruct when I post this log???
