Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Drove up Mt Majura road for as far as it would let me (Man i wish i had bolt cutters some days..) then walked and walked and...oh my god are we there yet, kept on walking. (Yes, i am a fan of drive-by trigs, or ones where there's not that much of a walk. Lazy? No, just ..unfit?)
Lovely views through. Also grabbed a few GC caches..
It was a beautiful clear Canberra morning. Great view of the North.
Now to some more Mt Majura caches I with Abida had a few to gather ..
Visited this trig on 7 September 2008 when finding Majura Madness geocache. Have also been up her many other times and will be again soon to finalize Pilot cache. Will have to remember to take a camera and get a picture.
Found this one during an assault on Mt Majura caches on 26 Sep 2008 - walking between Third Time Lucky and Majura Nadness.... great views from up here !
TFTC !!
But thats when I was inundated with a stream of exercise-muggles, jogging, walking dogs etc. So I had to be very careful, and wait for a bit of a break before I put it back - I dont think anyone noticed!
Then it was on to a GC cache, down the hill for a bit of shopping, and home for a coffee.
Cheers
TFTC and the thought.
I have been up here twice before in the last two or so years and both times I didn't even see the trig - talk about tunnel vision. So today I thought I had better visit it and get the smiley.
Fantastic views today - everything is so green
Pics taken at all of them, some easy jaunts in suburbs, some a stiff climb in the rain/snow/gales, some with great views of a rain covered Canberra or suburbs. It was spectacular views from some of them seeing a rain soaked Canberra or nearby mountain ranges. All in all, a great day with three FTF’s too.
BZZZZZZ< BZZZZZ - The radar fried my Brain......
We had a great family caching day on the mountain and grabbed a photo too.
