Description

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

This is the oldest trig station in NT according to some of the signage here.

In Alice Springs for the GC 'mega' event that we are hoping will actually turn mega. Regardless it is my first time caching in the NT and therefore couldn't resist finding at least one GCA. Bungalow Hill was my lucky pick this trip. Such gorgeous views from up here. So great to come to fantastic places with a hobby that I love. TFTC.

#GA1487 - 09:45; Day 13 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965. After our first full day of caching near Alice Springs today we decided to take advantage of the public holiday and cache around the town while most businesses are closed. After some urban caching, we headed to the old telegraph station for a walking trail and some others including this trig at the top of the little hill. Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1355. Found during Day 3 of my epic 21 day visit to Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience Event and further travels after that.

Flew into Alice Springs and met up with my fellow intrepid team members Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n for the start of an amazing trip throughout the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and eventually back to Canberra. The Red Centre Experience is the main attraction of course, but also on our agenda are a lot of GC Caches, lots of trigs, as well as plenty of GCA Trads, History and Virtual Caches (and maybe the odd beer or two ??!! Smile. Go Clan Cerberus !

Another trig for the trip. Enjoyed walking arounf the Telegraph area. Really nice views from up here. Also a bonus with the trad up here as well. Photo taken. Then it was back in the car and off to the next one !

Another trig added to the dragonZone list. I really enjoy finding trigs and also the new CORS that are popping up everywhere !

TFTC !!

Follow the Trig Hill walk arrows from the Telegraph Station - you're there when you get to the 360 degree views. Excellent spot and hard to believe it's so close to town. Definitely worth the little hike up the hill!
