Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

We stopped in a 15 minute zone, had a quick walk around the block, grabbed some happy snaps and we were back on our way in no time at all.
A nice TP in the middle of town.
Just my luck today thwe coffee shop was a good spot to photo GZ.
I took a quick snap and moved on.

Our lofty tower nearly had its head in the clouds today on our very overcast day.
And, if you climb up to the lookout tower, you not only get a view for miles, because the surrounding countryside is so flat, you can also gain te coordinates for a nearby clever GC Multi cache
Thanks for the Trig Point, the name of which is very misleading.
We celebrated my sister's birthday milestone with family and friends at a pub in Wang, and are now off for a much needed Easter break. How better to navigate to the olds' place than caches?
Most of my waypoints were virtual; this was the second before we made the final run to Echuca.

**********This lengthy log is because we are currently working towards a Dragon Zone trophy for "I write treatises for a living" - Average 150 or more words per valid dragonZone geocache find log or did not find log excluding geocaches that you own. Slowly getting there**********
Today's drop around the corner so a short walk down the main street and here I am.
Not really having the time to climb the dizzying heights, I will leave that adventure for another time.
Quite an impressive structure to be located in the middle of town.
Took a swag of photos and headed back home.
Thanks for the trig.
But to reach the heady heights where it is located at 145.2 metres is only possible if your work for the company next door
I still managed to get half way up the tower though
No safety harness required, thank you
I reckon that is close enough to claim this cache
The view out over town from the dizzying heights half way up the tower are .... of endless rusty rooftops and trees
Stop in Shepparton for lunch just around the corner.
Thanks for the Trig
#4 of 5 GC and GCA finds today.
After searching for a GC cache in this immediate area without success, I said to harry_stamper "this must be a trig point" and sure enough it was!
Not a great picture, but it shows I was there all the same.
Photo to come.
The street was quiet as this time of day so I could wander around with the camera without being looking too out of place.
Bit hard not to miss that one.
tackle_head is 'not playing this game' so he took the pic of me infront of the cool tower - little does he know that this looks like another FTF for The Empire!
