Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

This visit, July 2015 on a cold blustery Sunday morning. Worthwhile views over Woden and the Ranges.
Thanx GA for including Trigs as loggable caches, as Trig walks are what got me into Geocaching in the first place
Another hill climbed and cache grabbed in the ACT
Was in the area, and felt like a walk. I dont care that it's raining. It'll build character! (and i'll get a cold, and have tomorrow off work? right? pfft.)
Most likely took a stupid way up the hill, but i didnt get attacked by any magpies (yaaaay...i honestly will admit i have a phobia of them), snakes, kangaroos, horses, ...any other animals? Woo.
Lovely views (even through it's raining and cloudy and yucky weather in general), and...you can really hear the parkway from here (could hear a fire engine the whole time i was walking up the hill!)
On a bit of a tangent this it seems was the last cache I was ever to do using my garminasus A50. Sadly the screen is severly busted now due to a drop on a bike path. It was the best phone I ever had. *sniff*
I rememeber visiting this Trig on 22 Feb 2008. I found the GC Caches "Lyons & Tygers", "Charity Cache" and "Artist's Impressions" and twice walked over this Hill. Did the extra yards to the Trig not knowing that these would count one day. I'm sure I'll be back at some stage to add a photo.
[Edit 25 April 2012 - and I was - photo attached !!].
TFTC !!
Found this one on 26 March 2009 when caching fir the Charity Cache. had GeoTeen with me but no camera as our GPS was only an ĂȘTrex in those days.
Thanks for the Trig:)
1) Hayfever of the ankles kicked in big time &
2) SNNNAAAAKKKKEEEEE.
After walking 9km then mowing the backyard twice, doing the Mt Taylor Trig and then coming at this one from the steepest side, the HR was already pumping. After nearly treading on the fast (thankfully) disappearing snake the HR really topped out.
Some great views taken in between heart pumps.
TFTC and the acorn
Lovely, thanks
Thanks for getting me out on a perfect day.
Could only vaguely remember the trig so decided to visit this again before I logged it. Great views
An easy lunch time jaunt though.
