Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

A good days caching!
I am Grumpy, companion of Tiger!
In memory of THEOLDREV.
Fantastic views of most of the ACT from here
Made a beeline from a nearby GCA cache and ran straight into a fence. There was nothing for it but to head back down to the gate. No worries, this is not a very big hill. A small hill, but with lovely 360 views.
Ridgeo-pup pic attached:
Well I was doing the nearby NRL GC series and noticed this trig was only a short walk off the path.
It's a trig so there must be a trig point cache, so I pulled out my phone, took the short stroll over and took some pics.
Once home I loaded up the map and sure enough there it was!
Thanks!
This photo, July 2015 on a cold blustery Sunday morning. There was snow visible on the ranges - nice!
Thanx GA for including Trigs as loggable caches, as Trig walks are what got me into Geocaching in the first place
There was lots of long grass, so there was lots of stomping and then a fairly dodgy photo. Never mind, it is to prove that MajuraHathi was there!
Thanks for the Trig cache!
Cheers
MajuraHathi
Nice to find a bonus on the way past.
TFTC
now desperately trying to dry my shoes/pants before work!
I may regret taking the short and sharp way (what do you mean only 300 and something metres away from the car? sounds easy!)
but hey...don't have to walk up here for this trig again!
also very glad I didn't attempt it during serious hayfever season. I don't do pine needles well
While entering the reserve notice someone taking there Lama on a walk too actually they had two in tow.. lmao..
Nice views from this one for little effort.
Catching up on another Trig visited when finding a nearby GC Cache - in this case "Deek's Pines" on 12 May 2008 - a very nice cache !!
TFTC !!
Visited this one on 29 September 2008 when finding the Deeks Pines cache. Nice views of the other side of town
Thanks for the trig.
Could only vaguely remember the trig so decided to visit this again before I logged it. Great views
TFTC and some great views (in my biased opinion)
