Wild Horse Plain trig

Wild Horse Plain Trig

Along Port Wakefield road an Easy drive by. The trig is located on a private property.

See how creative you can be.

Please ensure you and your GPS in photo & if you use the GPS as the camera then please have yourself in the photo.

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Tough one to get a decent shot at with an iPad. Busy road too. Get better photos coming back from the chemist.

There is no doubt that this trig is on private property. The structure is no longer in position and all that is visable from the fence line is the marker and 3 posts.

02-Jun-18
If I hadn't destroyed a pair of jeans on a barb wire fence yesterday, I would have gone over this fence and taken the short walk to the trig, but I can't risk another pair of jeans, as they are now in short supply. TFTC.

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.

One of Plenty of trigs we saw on this trip. I hope I get the right picture on each trig.

Thanks.
Albida
