A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated

The closest cache I have found to this trig is the first waypoint to Tankengine's "Tourist Tours" (GC572D)
I have also visited this trig dozens of times in the past as well! So thought it was time to log it.
Thanks!
TFTC Geocaching Australia.
This photo, late August 2015, even found a cache along the way. Did the flower to tower walk, on a sunny but cold Sunday morning.
Thanx GA for including Trigs as loggable caches, as Trig walks are what got me into Geocaching in the first place
I noticed this one come up on my GPSr while I was wandering around up top of Black Mountain. As any good cacher would, down went the GPSr and out came the mobile phone camera for the mandatory photo.
Thanks for highlighting this trig (survey marker) location Geocaching Australia
Thanks Geocaching Australia.
I am amazed at the cyclists who power up here, ride back down and then do it all again, wow! I was puffed just coming back up the last several hundred meters of track from the nearby caches.
Thanks for the trig.
My foot was playing up again, so an almost-driveby trig was what i really did need! And it was only 45m away from where i parked, what a bonus! Not many trigs on big hills have that sort of luxury!
Quick and easy "Hey-Look-I'm-At-The-..Trig-Point?" photo taken, then could run away.
Hooray!
The tower nearby is certainly more visible than the trig!
Thanks for the visit.
Found this one on 01 March 2011, had the place all to myself so it was a quick and easy find.
Pretty quiet up here on a Sunday afternoon, but the sights were still worth seeing.
Cheers
Found this one on 13 Dec 2007 very early on when I first started caching - I was doing the (currently) 2nd oldest active cache in the ACT "Geocache".
TFTC !!
TFTT and the tower
It was nice to track down a trig that didn't require a day trecking through the bush to find. TFTC
Sadly not much left - but that's progress for you!
I visited tonight and fortunately the flash and tripod worked a treat.
It was fun to virtually find a virtual cache.
Just enough of it remains to make a find.
