Drummoyne TS10732D
The official name of this Trig Station is: Drummoyne.
Serial number is: TS10732D.
Last inspected on: March 16, 1981.
Elevation is: 54 metres.
Be careful not to confuse the wind vane on top of the tower for the Trig Station, the Trig station minus the beacon is in the exact center of the reservoir. There are at least 2 places from which the base of the Trig is visible.

Parking is a premium – so found a spot & took the shots – I could see the top but didn’t come out in photos - thanks

Before logging it last week as a find I read the previous logs and like others I thought the weather vane was the trig as that was all I could see. So I went back today and took my DSLR with a long lens and was able to see the trig post which is now leaning against a railing. Very interesting local history about this reservoir and tower. TFTC.

Picked up this one on a day riding around iron Cove. I wasn't sure if there was a vane atop that tank, or maybe it was the tower behind with the weather vane. Got em both. Get a little closer and you can see a very interesting set of structures.

Day trip to Sydney with LuckyL10n to bust free a few GeGnomes and snare a few more Trigs...
Next trig on the list and yep, that's it in the centre of the water tank....TFTT

Since I had to go see a friend today almost next door I went for it, hard to see the base of the trig. Beside I really need a proper camera!

#GA220 - 12:10; I was doing a sweep through Drummoyne while the geohoney and friend visited a nearby shopping emporium. Found a park close to GZ, but then did a large circumnavigation before I reached a point where I thought I could actually see the trig post. It was about 70 metres away and a view through the trees! Anyway, nice to have this one on the found logs now. TFTC Geocaching Australia

Had to drive around to find a spot to see the "pole" but we eventually got it. Now to figure out how to get the photo off my wife's iphone!?!
Checked your photos and the aerial views and it looks like you've got it right, rogerw3. I haven't logged by this one yet, but will visit next week or the week after. We never stop learning something new about these damn trigs! But I guess that's why they're so fascinating . . .
Sorry to all the previous finders!
What you guys have found is the wind vane, the Trig Station is in the exact center of the tank and is visible from at least a couple places. The beacon is no longer there but the post (that's the important part) is still in place surrounded by its own railing as is common on reservoir Trigs.

In the area doing a few caches and saw this Trig close by. Drove right up to it and then back out again to find a Trig on top. I don't think there is one, although, found the weather vane, does that count

Well I have my doubts as to whether this is still a trig. I can't see anything to indicate it is but there are trigs that are church steeples so perhaps the weather vane will do it.
Looked on Nearmap and there appears to be a framework for a trig at the centre of the water tank but no vanes.

Like others, not sure if the weather vane is the trig point or not. Either way it was a good excuse to explore this area. Love the house, not the aeroplane noise.

I took pictures of what I thought was the trig, but my husband said I'd got a weathervane instead. But looking at the previous logs, I seem to be in good company. If I remember, I will look again next time I go past here & see if there is anything else to see on top of the reservoir.
Yep I reakon the cool tower with the weather vain is the point. It is interesting for a DBT Reservoir Trig so Im happy to log it Heading out to do some Lane Cove caches this was my closest Trig to home so nice to knock it off.

*FTF*
I figured I would grab a few FTF's on Trigs as I went around sydney today, this was the second of three.
This one is on top of the water tower, and I could not find a spot anywhere that I could see the actual discs, but the weathercock on the tower adjoining the water tank was easy enough to see - and you never know, as it is a little higher, maybe that is the actual trig point after all.
