Logs
We were out on Kings Tablelands Road yesterday with rogerw3, and discussing last time I looked, which was before the fires, and I couldn't find a way to GZ.
Today MrT was back out there with ClimbingSon and his dog Jinx.
On the way back to the car, he spotted it in a gap between a few trees. Made their way to GZ and took a photo. TFTT

We headed out along Tableland Rd this morning for a trig feast, plus a side of a pair of GC caches, in freezing conditions. With an air temperature of 6 degrees and some howling winds, it felt like zero or less, and I wished I'd bought my gloves! We fussed around a bit here, the kids were a bit spooked by the locked gate, we headed down the track to the west, but it got pretty gnarly fast, so we parked and walked across the grass to get our photos, a triple-trig stop, always happy with that. We walked all the way round here, and after a quick bush bash the sparkly white trig was found, with two of its expired vanes laying nearby.

Out in the beautiful weather with Outdoornut22 we decided to head for the mountains and I'm glad we did because I love the view! this trig was a bit interesting to find but after travelling down a interesting 4WD trail we decided to walk to the end and bush bash a bit to find the trig. still there and in suppressing very good condition yay!

Sophoutloud and I decided we had to make use of the beautiful day the weekend had provided us and after a bit of deliberation on the Geocaching Australia map we decided that Kings Tableland would be a good day outing to somewhere we hadn't been in a while with the bonus of being able to get 7 trigs and a virtual. All the Trigs we found were in great condition and most were tidy and well painted. walking trough the bush up here was pretty easy at the moment as there is still no undergrowth although it is pretty sad to see the many trees have been damaged to an extent that they were really struggling to shoot out sprouts and keep growing. 3 easy trigs in close proximity here, we drove on the trail around the back to the cliff side to get access to the pillar easy in our 4wd but an easy walk if you don't have high wheels. a bit of a rough bush bash the 30 m into this one but a nice shiny concrete pillar is waiting for you at the end

I did an early morning run to the end of Kings Tableland Road to McMahon's Point and Battleship Tops. I was last time down this way in April 2015 and I had some unfinish trigs to do that in 2015 I looked at and noted some information on them. I even kept the paperwork on these trigs. So today it was time to complete these trigs along this road. It was a coolish November day which was good as it helped in achieving the find. Back in 2015 the bush was very thick from track and I noted in my notes as I was here in the early morning and it had rained the night before that I going to get very wet pushing my way through the thick bushes to trig. So, I left this one and moved onto other caches – trigs in the area. Between 2015 and now 2018 there has been a bush fire here and this has dramatically reduced the density of the bush between track and trig. The problem now is you are bushing your way to trig through burnt bush so you are going to come away a little black after completing trig. I have looked over the photos from 2015 to now from other cache people and it is very nice to see after the fire they did some maintenance and a good coat of paint here, very nice to see that. So, in the end it was very nice to complete this trig as I completed the near by trigs in 2015. It is just a shame that it doesn’t have its vanes anymore. It is interesting that it looks like there is 2 sets of vanes here, I wonder what the back story is about this. Once again thanks for the walk and the amazing view near here.

#GA2517 - 12:15; Day two of a caching run to the Blue Mountains with Sol de lune. After making our way through to Katoomba yesterday, the plan for today is to head a bit further west as far as Mount Victoria before heading east again through Medlow Bath, Katoomba (again), Leura, Wentworth Falls, Hazelbrook and Woodford, before heading on to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park for some new caches, then hit the road for home. After some wandering in the bush near Mount Victoria we were well on our way east again. We headed into this area to grab a puzzle cache, which allowed me to pick up the three trigs as well, as Sdl had snapped them on a previous visit. After getting a snap of the two towers, we headed around the boundary fence and through some light scrub where this one was soon spotted and snapped. TFTT Geocaching Australia

I headed on from the second trig but couldn't see anything. got up to the old fence and it said 30 m in but there is a lot of new growth so I couldn't even see it in the distance. Since I was on my own I decided not to pursue it. Maybe after the next fire goes through I will come back.

On a trig run this morning 5th of six. Walked up to the site gate then took the path that skirted the perimeter. Stopping to take a photo of each of the towers and the traditional trig around the back.

While here I walked around to the back of the property to find the Podgers trig from the track could just see and then ventured as far as I thought I should go. Took the photo and headed back out. There is starting to get a lot of regrowth but still a lot of the bush didn't survive. You can still get black from charcoal. Thanks for bringing me to this trig

Found on a weekend trip to the Blue Mountains with Sol de Lune. After finding the correct way to the trig, it was a quick walk for a even quicker photo. TFTC GCA!

Found with Toy Hunters during our time in the area....
Rain had stopped a little so we headed around the complex and soon had the trig in sight. Photo was grabbed and all was good.

After photographing the nearby towers I walked along the track and forced my way the final 40 metres through the very thick bush. Plinth in good shape with mast and vanes lying on the ground next to it. Found at 3:22 pm.

Once I was within about 37m of the trig, I ventured through the thick bush. I found a fence, with 22m to go. I went over and did the same again. Found it, but took the quickest shot I could, as I felt I was somewhere I should not have been. Sorry for the blurry shot. Focus was on manual.

With bisygisy to seek Views3-55 Kedumba, and the track offered another approach. Soon, again, the undergrowth thickened, but progress was made as bisygisy blazed a trail, including thru the fence. Sturdy progress eventually revealed this trig. Name plate is intact and Trig is in reasonable condition except the Vanes and support have toppled.
Exit was easier as the enclosed Tower land fence line was near ... but that too, and Podgers, is within another fenced area of private (?) land.

Was with whitemushroom today and he was still interested in this trig. So just after completing nearby Jamieson cache I followed whitemushroom along with the co-ordinates now loaded into my GPSr from my the GCA Android app. I pushed myself through a wall of tough scrub at 40m from the trig. I didn't let it defeat me and whitemushroom followed in my footsteps. Ten metres from the trig we knew we had made the find. Fairly well preserved but the mast was lying on the ground. It was much easier to get out of there. We just followed the trail and exited from the side. TFTT.
Three attempts to penetrate the scrub (the third through the wire fence, other attempts did not get to a fence). The growth aside the track is simply so thick that progress is limited to but a few metres. Someone with more resolve will have to push through, notwithstanding the fence.
Lets see what other visitors to the trig say about access and how close they can get to snap a picture.
a rough bash through the scrub indeed. unfortunately I think this is on private land as I had to jump a fence.
Another date in the calendar crossed off. The bush is certainly thick around this one!

Is this a windy place or not?
In order to survive up here, all the local bushes have become low-lying and nearly impenetrable. That's the word I want to emphasize -- impenetrable.
rogerw3 and I bush bashed in from a trail off Tableland Road in Wentworth Falls and couldn't believe the time it took us. Yes, we got lost a bit too . . . we just couldn't follow the GPSr into some of the thickest thickets.
And yet -- another gold star for rogerw3 for his spot-on prediction of where this trig sits. We could barely see 5 metres ahead of where we were walking, but that was enough for us to spot the old, decapitated pedestal, just where it was supposed to be.
The fierce winds had sheared off the post with the vanes, but otherwise the structure is in good shape. We temporarily replaced the post for our photos.
Side name plaque is still intact and the top plate is fine. No vandalism evident. Nobody but nobody would ever try to get to this spot except for trig-mad geocachers!
Weather was pretty terrible too but, believe it or not, we had a fairly good time!
'Three Thumbs Up' for amazing local terrain & fun of adventure.
Don't try this one wearing shorts and a t-shirt . . .

Second find for today's Trig hunt with pjmpjm. It looks like an easy bush bash from the track but this is very dense new growth, a very hard slog to reach the Trig.
The mast and vanes have been sheared of by the wind and are lying next to the concrete pedestal, we put it back together for the photo and replaced it back on the ground next to it. The plaque is there intact.
Very satisfying considering the heavy work getting to it.
