We decided to have a picnic at the park on a very (very) hot Australia Day. Afterwards we headed over here where I noted this unusual Trig. TFTT!
#GA2607 - 12:25; Day one of the 2018 Oz Geomuster mission with Sol de lune. Today was planned to be an easy day travelling to the Mega site in Morisset via a few dragonZones in the Sydney metropolitan region before getting amongst the Easter traffic heading north along the freeway. This was the first stop for the day and after a bit of a detour coutesy of an errant GPSr, we made it to the lookout and the trig. Great views from GZ, a couple of snaps taken and we were off again. Day one of an Easter trip with LuckyL10n to the 2018 Morisset Mega. Headed up via the northern beach suburbs of Sydney to grab a few trigs and dragonZones along the way.
No problems with this one and the trig was soon spotted. Great views over Manly from here as well.
Another trig and another dragonZone crossed off. Thanks for the trig....

found the locator pin reasonably quickly in the light.

You'd have thought we'd have made short work of this beautifully positioned trig, located only about 30 metres from the road, and approached by a concrete path!
However, the Tom Tom GPSr stubbornly refused to take us to the roadside destination, stranding us on a dead-end street a couple of hundred metres away.
Mrs. pjmpjm were returning to the Blue Mountains from an event in Manly, and thought we'd make the find in the dark, and enjoy the view of lights from the lookout.
In the end, we had to reply on old-fashioned navigation!
Anyhow, the unusual plaque-and-pin trig is indeed where it's supposed to be and offers a wonderful panoramic view.
'Four Thumbs Up' for the oddity and great lookout.

What a cool and different Trig. Not only top views to Manly and the Harbour but a plaque and pin combination I have not seen before. Well worth the stop!

Nice to see the locating pin and plaque in place. The views are great. Found at 1:36 pm.
This was a bit of a strange one, last data available clearly stated that this was a stainless steel pin in the center of a direction plate on a sandstone and concrete monument.
However there is no sign of the said monument, it seems to have been removed. However the stainless locating pin has been repositioned on the ground with a bronze plaque.
Well worth looking at this one just because it is so unusual, but the great view from the lookout is a great bonus.
