Found with rogerw3 today, after a 5km round-trip walk. The GeoBuru2 just couldn't manage the 'fire trail' at one point and so we had to leave it behind.

Much of the trail is very nice, however, and we had a pleasant walk with many views.

Trig is in pretty good condition, with its plaque intact, apart from the vanes.
