A turn off to the Howes Range Fire Trail with a rough and ready climb to start, the GeoReindeer baulked eventually at a sandy patch - moreso the 'mushroom - at halfway of the 5 km out. A dedicated 4x4 should go all the way out without too much difficulty.
Abandoning the vehicle it was for a pleasant enough walk up the hill to this somewhat battered trig with fallen mast and vanes and removed name plate.
