When the 2nd Caringbah cub scouts do their "How to read a map" practise, they also get told what the names of the local suburbs mean. So Cronulla is a pink shell (IIRC) and Caringbah is the Pademelon Wallaby. I don't really have a clue on what a Pademelon Wallaby is, how I would recognize it in the wild or how it is different from any other kind of Wallaby, but it's always one of the highpoints of the "How to read a map" evening so I consider it a thing which will save my honour one day. Which is today, when I can score one point for my clan in the Summer Scavenger Hunt!
