Gallery of log for Eva
After a DNF on this trig on Sunday, 23 October, I was keen to come back and get a Find, and some photos.
BTW FYI, First found @ 1244, Monday, 17 October, 1983 - from my Trig Stations log book of the 1980s. I didn't mention a PM cover, so probably just photographed the rock cairn, which was in better condition. This was one of x 17 found that day! (ALL on the Hornsby 1:25,000 map)
I agree with GeoOz944 that the coordinates are out a bit, as I was looking on Sunday 23/10/16, intensively at the original coords of S33 41.112 E151 11.038. But being 1900, and the sun about to set, and I was still wanting to get some Survey Markers for Waymarking, I thought it best to head off.
This Sunday I had the advantage of being aware that the coordinates could be out, and sure enough, I found the cairn about 16 m away from where I had been tapping around in the bush. The metal lid opened easily with a tool. Found @ 0934. With EVA T.S stamped on the bronze rectangular plate screwed onto the square lid of the cast iron PM box. Found the location pin - a little loose.
Hopefully a Waymark soon - along with some others in the vicinity.
