Gallery of log for Wallangarra Railway Station - Historic Engineering Marker #61
Today we visited Wallangarra and went to the railway station to look for this Historic Engineering Marker. The published coordinates took us to the southern end of the platform where there were two plaques but neither were the one of interest. One plaque was headed "Wallangarra Railway Station" and described the origins of the different rail gauges and the unique railway station. The second plaque was erected to commemorate the Centenary of Federation and the survey of the Queensland/New South Wales border. We located the Historic Engineering Marker half way along the north-eastern side of the railway station at S28 55.403 E151 55.908. Three photos have been added to the Gallery: the Historic Engineering Marker; the "Wallangarra Railway Station" history plaque; and the Centenary of Federation / border survey plaque. Thanks Team MavEtJu for the cache.
