Gallery of log for Queenstown walkway - Horsetail Falls

14-Feb-18
After finding Gooseandegg's Queenstown View we continue up the mountain til we reached the parking spot for this cache. As we approached we could see the water cascading down the falls, just like a horse's tail.

The wind was blowing a gale but it was not raining. We had just reached the walkway when there was a lightning flash followed by a loud clap of thunder. We looked at one another - the look said lets make it quick so up we went with the wind pushing us towards the rock wall at the edge of the walkway. It started to rain and just as we reached the end platform hail started to whip up the gully.

Luckily the accurate coordinates and the good hint enabled us to make a quick find of the well hidden cache. We were pleased to see that this log book was also blank giving us another {FTF} at 11:40. Even though water was cascading down the rocks above us the cache container and contents were in excellent condition. We managed to sign the log book without too much hail landing on it and safely tucked it away again.

Thanks for the cache Stainless-Steel-Rat this area certainly deserves a cache. Even though there was thunder, lightning and hail all the way up and back we enjoyed the walk and the view of the falls. As with the previous cache the weather kept the tourist muggles away.
