Gallery of log for The Spit Finger

05-Jul-19
A windy day with occasional bouts of rain, perfect day for finding caches in areas normally muggle central. We found the cache just fine, moved away from GZ to sign the log then return. I must admit I wondered why the pencil did not want to stay in the container when I returned the inner component but saw that the log sheet curled itself against the edges. Its ok I thought, although I was thinking about lunch and were to go, seeing that an outdoor picnic was out of the question and even the suggestion of Fish and Chips at Peter's was negligible since the wind was likely to blow off the salt. Still the kidney's were telling me it was a cold day and having taken the opportunity to visit the facilities up near the kiosk realised I still had the bottom cap in my pocket - so that's why the pencil didn't stay in.

Headed back to Ground Zero, this time two sets of dog walkers, two kids on bikes plus parent, and a couple in the car enjoying the view were all around or near Ground Zero. Fell back to my waiting strategy - look at the channel marker, look at the island, look at a couple of wind surfers on the Broadwater - come on... people its cold, its windy, get back on your bikes and head that way. Eventually they left or had turned themselves into a position enough for me to retrieve, recap and replace. Whew! Unfortunately, I am not sure what had happened to the pencil, although it was quite weather affected and no longer working.

Thanks for the cache.
