Gallery of log for Editing History @ Trove
My first editing on Trove was in September 2008, as I love to research my family, and the areas that they lived. It is a great activity and can be done anywhere and at any time.
Over the years I have found many interesting articles including those involving family sadness.
Late one night my son (who also loves correcting on Trove) came to me and asked if I knew about the MURDER in the family. I knew of the married woman who had died in 1886 and had always presumed that she had died in childbirth. My son had found a newspaper article which detailed her death, at the hands of her husband, in central Melbourne. Newspaper reports at that time went onto great detail.
Another 'interesting' but sad story involves the father of the above mentioned woman. In 1874, while in a drunken state he tried to commit suicide by cutting his arm. This event was mentioned in many country and interstate newspapers at the time. A link to the article is https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/60992341?
I haven't been doing much editing while at home but have been doing plenty of family history research.
Thank you ziggiau for this fun cache.
