Decided to access via the Kings Road track with geo-pooch...all was well to start with until entering the long steep gully. 3/4 the way up the going became almost impossible for 4paws and time was running out due to late start....so had to leave my buddy tethered in a comfy spot while I forged on ahead. Turned out to be a correct decision as this track is impossible for canines without lots of assistance with 4m vertical climbs and rather large rock ledges to negotiate. The wind chill was getting noticeable...even though there was only a wispy breeze. At the Trig my hands started getting numb straight away...so some quick pics...take in the smoky view...then head down to re-unite with 4paws.....who was pretty happy to see me back. Going down was decidedly easier though hard on the legs. Finally made it back in 4hr 40min in fast fading light. This access was an awesome experience with the track passing through huge cliff lines...really impressive. This track would have to be one of the hardest if not hardest climb I've done...not for the feint hearted. A memorable day....many thanks GCA....Cheers.
