Gallery of log for Wunbarra (QGS 543)
So I was looking through old maps of Springbrook and the surrounding areas (because I'm a mega-map-nerd!) and I spotted a Control Station near a track. I fired up Queensland Globe and discovered this is the location of a Geodetic Station.. I must explore. Coincidently a Geo-buddy was out from Ireland and was also keen to explore so we met up and off we went UP Neranwood Break. I've been up this many times. It's VERY steep. I knew the return descent was going to be even more challenging but that was a problem for our future selves to deal with haha. We arrived at the junction with Wunbarra Spur Break and turned left. A steep descent followed then up again and we arrived about 40m from GZ. In we went. A minor bush bash got us to the prize. An awesome blaze was found! It's in great condition, in fact the best I've seen. The witness post was then found. A satisfying day! Images taken and a high-five actioned
On the way back I started wondering about setting up a GC cache for this location. Time will tell.
If you don't keep focused and take your time down and also side-step the steepest sections there is a high chance of slipping over.. which we both did haha. Thanks for the cache
