Knowing that all NSW schools were already enjoying their Christmas holidays, I had no worries in driving the GeoBuru right up to the school fence. And, sure enough, there was the white metal trig sitting right in the middle of the school yard, very visible and easy to photograph!
I wouldn't recommend trying to visit and take photos during normal school hours. During the school term, it might be wiser to wait for for later afternoons, early evenings or weekends.
