Found this old, worn rock, about 20cm square, under a big, old fig near one of the cannon emplacements. The copper pin is in good condition, protected by its verdigris. Most of the stonework here dates to around 1870. It would be interesting to know whether the trig is related. My final long-average coords agreed exactly.
