Gallery of log for Isabella & Reuben

Hi 47tuc
This cache not only gets a favourite from me but gets a high recommendation as well. I absolutey loved doing this cache:
The TomTom tried to take me over the Huon River at Tahune Air Walk but that bridge is closed to through traffic. Firther driving required, but this time following the arrow of the Garmin 450 - finally found the right road and arrived at ground zero.
A very quick find was effected at 1420hrs.
Now down to the falls - what a specky walk! (It took less time for me to walk in and out than it did to navigate the car to the start of this walk.)
The track is well defined and blazed. Not as difficult to negotiate as I had been led to believe. If an old man like me - (they don't call me "Old"Saint for nothing) - can do it; then anyone can! If wet, just don't tread on the roots and the wood too much. Great scenery both ways as you walk beside the tinkling waters of Isabella Creek. The mossy rocks and sub-growth is beautiful.
On the way in, I was priviledged to see a lyre bird in full flight as it winged its way through the trees. It followed me all the way to the falls where I had the honour of watching it feed. (Photographic evidence provided - albeit not very good photographs.) had this bird as a companion as I climbed out from the falls. It tried to kick stones on my head from the ridge above the track.
Plenty of water cascading over the crest made Reuben Falls a spectacular sight today.
I will walk back in with any cacher who wants to visit these beautiful cascades in the future.
I really extend a hearty thank you to 47tuc for putting a cache in an area to which I had not visited before and for taking me to one of my favourite walking pashions; a great set of waterfalls.
Cheers and thanks;
OldSaint.
