Gallery of log for Dooleys Heritage Trail #6
Two days ago we went caching in the pouring rain and found three of the seven new Dooleys Heritage Trail caches. Today, with the weather fine, we headed off down The Groove Creek Track to try to find the remaining four. The hand of Sirius was quite evident along the way - the removal of one log in particular was greatly appreciated. Once we got to Dooley's Track, we went downstream to this cache. It was a lovely walk with sun shining through the trees - a real contrast to two days ago. The river was in full flow, rapids in some sections and flowing like treacle in others. The first section of the walk along the trail was testing - steady climb up a track which was slippery in places. However, once the high sections were negotiated and we were back at river level, it was an easy walk. It continues to amaze us that the same river can vary so much in character along the way. This section was very different to others we have walked. Once near GZ, accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and it's contents were in good condition and with no other entry in the logbook, we will claim FTF at 10:00am. Thanks Sirius Tas for another great cache in this great series.
