After the FTF of Bombi trig we retraced our steps to the Maitland Bay track and headed downhill and then down the many steps to the sign at Caves Bay. From there we followed the creek to the boulder field and scrambled a couple of hundred metres around the cliff base until the going became much flatter and easier with 120 metres to go. There was the rusty old post in plain sight on the rock platform. No vanes but it was a bonus to see a plaque.
