I'd had two abortive expeditions to this site and found nothing in the past however today I noted that another cacher had found the trig even though the listing had been archived. I unarchived it and headed off. Parked at the end of the road and walked into familiar territory. There was a newly fallen tree near GZ which made me less hopeful. Also some neighbours eyeing me suspiciously although it's nowhere near their land.

Eventually found the hatch with its pink ribbon. Got the photo but then couldn't open the hatch so went back to the car for the screwdriver. Even then it was very difficult to lever open so I recommend bringing your specialist tool for this. I was pleased to see the "Evelyn TS" plate inside. There doesn't appear to be a locating pin but it looks like the original rock marking has been preserved and painted yellow. There are even a few stones left in the ground around the hatch which may have been part of the original cairn. Glad the scrub was cleared so this could be found again.
