In 1978 John Dudley known as "The Cap'n" was asked to help raise money for charity at The Barbican Regatta. He provided burgers and over fast food items. From this he applied for planning permission and this was the start for the famous Cap'n Jaspers on the Whitehouse Pier Barbican Plymouth England.. This hut stood for ten years and became so popular that it had to be rebuilt even bigger. On 1 May 1997 new premises were open which you can see today.
The Cap'n sadly passed away on 24 June 2001. The barbican lost a truly unique and very special man.
Cap'n Jaspers continues to be run by The Cap'ns daughter, Georgie, who has been involved with the business since it opened in 1978.

This is me standing with my GPS in front of Smeaton's Tower Lighthouse, Plymouth. England.
The Lighthouse was originally built on the Eddystone reef in 1759 at a cost of £40.00. John Smeaton used 1493 block sof stone and 1800 Oak Renails to build this engineering masterpeice which wighs 1000 tons.

This is my surname and I was quite surprised to find it on a road sign but in Plymouth, Devon, England. It turns out Plymouth had a Mayor called Mr W J Waycott during the 1890's. Its quite and unusal surname so maybe him and I are related.
