Logs for Free52grobert

Solved the puzzle but rain drove us out. No rain coats made it tough.

Gday mate, came in from Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States as part of team GGF & F5G, GrammiesGeoFun and Free52Grobert (Grobert for short). Often on a grandkid mission. Signed with GrammiesGeoFun & GROBERT, or GGF & F5G depending on the size of log. We recently moved closer to those grand kids, which means a new area and, new geocaches; a win-win situation.Currently our focus is on Web Cams, Multi-Caches, Letter Box Caches, and Wherigos. We also enjoy Earth Caches, Cemetery/Grave Yard caches (usually less chance of muggles), mystery/puzzle caches, and a chance at finding a recent hide. Always looking for a Fizzy or JASMER grid spot, and now we officially have made our 7th hide! Recently completed the J geo-art near Janesville Wisconsin (GC92Z0A). A creative group of different puzzle caches, which are hidden in a unique combination of cache containers. Worth the effort if one is in the area.New house results in new birds at the bird feeders and we are adding those to our birds sighted list. We report them on the Merlin Bird ID application supported by the Ornithology Laboratory at Cornell University. We have a new pond mate on our new pond, a Great Blue Heron, who we call Bluey, after the kids show based in Australia. The Cornell app works on iPhone and Android platforms and helps identify birds on the go! Great tool for use, while Geocaching, especially when you see a bird you dont recognize. We enjoy the camaraderie with other catcher's and the thought and creativity that goes into making these geocache hides. Thank you for giving the rest of us a challenge. We always practice Cache In Trash Out, (CITO).

Gday mate from travelers from the United States. Great start to a day of Geocaching. Glad to be outside caching! Coming in from Fort Wayne, Indiana; as part of team G & GGF, and usually on a GK mission (GrandKid). We enjoy Earth Caches, Cemetery/Grave Yard caches (usually less chance of muggles), and mystery puzzles. Always looking for a First to Find, (Fizzy / Jasmer grid spot to fill in.Working on a National Park challenge, which is great fun!Added Bird Identification and sightings data recording, to our outdoor activities. Added Bin Chickens as the locals call them. Cornell University has an app, Merlin Bird ID with eBird the accompanying data base. Great adjunct to ones GeoCaching activities. Also helps with research on bird populations and migratory patterns. There is interesting data on 108 species of birds, where most take a direct, over open water route South in the fall. The return North in the Spring takes a longer, over land return route. The theory is the prevailing winds in the fall give the migrating birds greater range going South, so most can make it over he open water. We appreciate the thought and effort that goes into creating these hides. Thank you for giving the rest of us a challenge. As always we practice Cache In Trash Out, (CITO).

Great day to be Geocaching outside! Coming in from Pendleton, Indiana; as part of team ‘GGF & G’, GrammiesGeoFun and Free52Grobert (Grobert for short), and usually on a GK mission (GrandKid).

Recently made a swing through picking up cashes in TN, AL, GA, SC, & NC. This will help complete a contiguous line of counties from the west coast to the east coast, Max’Bs Golden spike - (https://coord.info/GC59480). Working on oldest in each state and cache across America, as well.

We enjoy Earth Caches, Cemetery/Grave Yard caches (usually less chance of muggles), mystery/puzzles/challenges, and chance at a recent hide. Always looking for a Fizzy, additional JASMER grid spots, and now I have officially have made my first hide! Working on contiguous county strings as well.

Added ‘Bird Identification’ and sightings data recording, to our outdoor activities. Cornell University has an app, Merlin Bird ID with eBird the accompanying data base. Great adjunct to one’s GeoCaching activities and helps with research on bird populations and migratory patterns.

We appreciate the thought and creativity that goes into making these hides. Thank you for giving the rest of us a challenge. We always practice ‘Cache In Trash Out’, (CITO).

Got this one with Grammies GeoFun. There had been a controlled burn in the area and the cache had survived nicely. Interesting location and good place for a cache. Picked up travel bug GSA2RP and will move it along to an appropriate transit spot. Thanks for maintaining this “Ole Timer”!
