Logs for Lajoie 5
05-Aug-06
Wow, this was an adventure. The family ACTUALLY was excited to go out caching with me ... didn't have to bribe them or anything We took the time to read the log and really enjoyed reading the 2000 and 2001 entries. Really old. It took us a bit to figure out which side of the water to be on. We finally realized the town continued up the hill on both sides. TONS of Japanese tourists out ... plenty of kodak moments being captured. Pretty funny. Bugs were out in full force, but no mosquitoes.... BUT the horse flies were as big as chihuahuas!!!!!!! WOW, I was afraid they would group and carry off one of the kids! Ewww. We took a picnic lunch, wandered around and really enjoyed the town. Really FUN!!! Thanks for keeping this cache alive!! .... oh yeah, we actually had to have a discussion that it didn't REALLY have ghosts .... too funny!

Just rolled in from the Happiest Place on earth. WOW, a long day and so much fun. 3 of the Disney Parks for us, Land, Tokyo and now World ... our 1st cache at one though, and we were thrilled. We took a day off from vacationing at Grandmas and went to see Mickey, I knew I wanted to log a Disney Cache, and was not wanting to disrupt the family day too much with my obsession. Was I thrilled when I saw this Virtual that fit the bill. Thanks for making this so user friendly, convient and in a happy spot. I'll post the pictures when we get home from our hectic vacation. I will also post the pix for golfinggranny and twincachers. Thanks!! Took-pictures, great memoreis, left-sanity and too much money!

Well darn, Rey del Roble didn't realize he'd done this cache already until we were almost there ... he let me find it anyway, Thanks Dave! after 1K of caches, I guess you tend to forget which ones you've done .... oh, life is just tough that way a fun climb up the hill, never did find stairs, but our way worked just fine!
Well, we never did find the correct way in, but we managed to find the cache. It looks like they are thinning the area out directly around the cache. You may want to keep an eye on it. Odd little forest, I wonder how long it's been waiting to become a park ....
This was a nice quick walk across the park. Co-ords were spot on and I was pleased to find a TB celebrating PP 2K find. I'll move this along ASAP. Thanks!
Another quick in and out. Cache was dry, well hidden and stocked. Not a soul in sight and it was such a sunny day, I was surprised no one was enjoying the park. TFTH

OK, now I get the name ... good one. RdR walked right over it ... I came form another angle and snagged it. Thanks!
Yep, bigger tha a film cannister and smaller than a bread basket .... found it right away. Rdr was about to come from a different angle, but, it was not necessary

It was so fun to see all those friends I never see often enough. The food was great and very plentiful. The Lajoie boys attached themselves to Rey del Roble and JohnnyBoy and talked their ears off .... thanks for your patience guys! It made the boys night. 1/2 C was as fun and pleasant as ever, Thanks for the surprize ... look for them in a town near you soon!! Of course all the favorites, Sassy, Stachers, Cache Dancer, Flutey and everyone else! What a great event!

Found this in La Conner, WA. There were so many to choose from .... the town had a monopoly on totem poles and statues ... very impressive
