Logs for Last Chance

Passing through the area, with my Better Half and our geo-hound, Saint. We weren't the first to find this today. A cool and WINDY day! Thanks for placing/maintaining this cache.

A quick find that was exactly where the name indicated.

Found a Hill Figure in Huntsville, Alabama. This is perhaps not so noble as some, but I suppose it is a real one. This is the "RT" in front of a Ruby Tuesday at the very busy intersection of Airport Rd and Whitesburg Dr. TFTC.

I really hate it that the locationless caches are being killed off.Twisted[:(!] They were really different and I enjoyed them very much.Big Grin I suppose there is nothing that can be done, though.

This was the final Painted Lady of the day. The Cole House, built in 1887, is also on Holmes Avenue in Huntsville, Alabama. What is very interesting is that two adjacent houses look almost alike - Victorian Row Houses! TFTC.

Found a Superfund Site in Huntsville, Alabama.
Site Name: S C I SYSTEMS INC PLT # 1
Street: 8600 S MEMORIAL PARKWAY
City/State/ZIP: HUNTSVILLE, AL 35802
NPL Status: Not on the NPL
Non-NPL Status: NFRAP
EPA ID: ALD004016960
EPA Region: 04
County: MADISON
This is a large manufacturing facility of OEM electronic parts that has been operating for a number of years. Considering the types of supplies/processes used for this type of production, it is understandable that there could be waste and disposal problems. The actions on this plant were completed in 1994. TFTC.

I really hate it that all locationless caches are being killed - they can offer an extra bonus that helps people learn more about the world they live in. Oh well, absolute rulers can do anything they wish.

Found a Native American Trail Tree in Monte Sano Mountain State Park in Huntsville, Alabama. We were hiking along one of many trails in the park when we saw this pointing tree not very far off of the trail. This has a classic look, and the bend of this tree has a "nose" - as described in the southernmuse.com site mentioned above. Thanks for the cache. [N34 44.283 W86 30.627]

Found a Simulacra in Huntsville, Alabama. This was in in Monte Sano State Park. It looks like a big bird (with a big crest) to me, but it looks like an elk(!?), with horns, to the wife. Either way, it seems like a good idea to not put your fingers and hand near the beak (or mouth) at the right.Wink The park is very nice and has many walking/hiking trails. Thanks for placing this cache. [N34 44.283 W86 30.627]

Found a Painted Lady on Randolph St. in Huntsville, Alabama. This is the Darwin House, built in 1888. It is in the city’s Old Town Historical District. TFTC.
