Greetings from south Florida, USA!!
I am in town visiting the area today along with my nongeocaching husband and a couple of muggle friends. We arrived via the Celebrity Reflection and we are taking a whirlwind tour of Berlin.
I was happy to see this virtual cache here! When traveling with nongeocachers, I am always thrilled to find a virtual cache right in our path. The others didn’t even notice when I stopped to take a selfie here for this cache! I will upload the photo with my log.
Thanks for the virtual cache and the hunt. (Cache find #8783, virtual cache find #238, geostreak day #2160).
Motogrrl was here. So was U.S. Navy Geocoin. Energizer Bunny travel bug is passing through as well.

I came up from South Florida for my annual visit to the Atlanta area to spend some time with my good geobuddies Hokuri and Gocks. I had planned some very specific and ambitious goals for the six days I was in town, including completing four different GeoArt series (50 State Star Georgia artwork, The Smilie Manifesto artwork, the Survivor GeoArt series, and the Fahrvergnügen Freeway geoart in Tennessee), finding milestone cache #6000, completing the Jasmer Challenge by finding a cache in my last square needed (July 2000, Marooned, GC20), attending several events with Hokuri and Gocks, having an exhausting but productive day with my record for number of finds in one day (ended up being 141), and also finding some area virtual and challenge caches. Overall, it was quite a successful trip, as I completed each and every one of my goals. I had a blast, and I look forward to another visit next year.
Today was Hydropalooza and island caching day. After lunch at Hydropalooza, Gocks and I joined some other cachers on Trez's boat, and we had a blast finding island caches for a large part of the afternoon.
This was the tenth of 14 cache finds on the day. Our group found the cache without difficulty as the coords are right on the mark. The cache is in good condition, and the log book is nice and dry. We took nothing, left nothing, and signed the log. I snapped my usual nonspoiler geophoto, and we carefully replaced the cache just as we had found it. Then, we hopped back onto Trez's boat, and headed down the coast towards the next cache on our list.
This cache completes my Jasmer Grid, woo hoo! (It only took over 15 years and 7 months of caching to finally finish it!) Obviously, a favorite point has been awarded.
Thanks for the cache and the hunt, and a special thanks to Captain Trez for being our water taxi service! (Cache find #6145, geostreak day #1139).

Denmom4 and I had been planning a day of caching for today for the past few weeks. Initially, we were going to stay locally (Broward County area), but then she decided she wanted to tackle Christmas Cache (GCFA) for her #1000 milestone find. No problem, I told her. I had already done that cache (along with most of the other caches in Collier-Seminole State Park) just over three years ago, but it's a nice bike ride, and I wouldn't mind doing it again. Plus, I knew I could grab the relatively new ORGT cache within the park as my COTD (cache of the day). Sounds like a plan.
Fast forward to this morning. We each dropped our kids off at school, and then she and I met up at my house. I couldn't believe it when we were both wearing the exact same t-shirt!! We laughed and took that as a good omen. We hopped into my geotruck and made a beeline across Alligator Alley towards Collier-Seminole State Park. We paid our admission fees, relocated the geotruck, pulled the bikes off the back, and began pedaling.
We only saw one gator on the way in, and he was a safe distance away, relaxing in the swamp north of the bridge. The weather was not yet too hot, and it was bit breezy, so the mosquitoes didn't go into attack mode until we dismounted our bikes. We made our way towards ground zero and we found the cache immediately as the coords are right on the mark. The cache is in good condition and the log book is nice and dry. We took nothing, left nothing, and Denmom4 signed the log book. I snapped a celebratory nonspoiler geophoto of her, and another one of the two of us, and we carefully replaced the cache right where it belongs. Then, we retraced our steps back to our awaiting bikes, and we headed towards the next cache down the trail.
Thanks again for the cache and the hunt, and for keeping it alive all these years!! And congratulations Denmom4 on find #1000!!

FINALLY!!!
Greetings from South Florida!! This is day four of a six-day, seven-state epic caching adventure with MrsL10. We started the day in New Mexico, cached our way through Colorado (including Pikes Peak), and we're now heading east. This was one our targeted caches for today, as I had not yet found it (MrsL10 had found it last year). We made our way to ground zero, getting there after sunset, and I found the cache immediately as the coords are right on the mark. The cache is in good condition and the log book is nice and dry. I took the Sneaky Sneaky travel bug and the Ben-11/2014-Coin, left the SWISS-shoe travel bug and the Signal FTF Micro Geocoin, and signed the log book. I discovered the bevy of other travelers in the cache. I snapped my usual nonspoiler geophoto, and we retraced our steps back to our awaiting car, ready to head towards the next cache on our list. Thanks for the cache and the hunt!! I have awarded a favorite point (of course).

It is with great pleasure that I finally cross this cache off my GBL (Geocaching Bucket List).
There aren't many active caches out there that were published before I started caching in February, 2001. In fact, if I run a pocket query from my home coordinates, there is exactly ONE cache within 500 miles of home that meets this criterium ... THIS ONE. Although I've known about this iconic cache for over a decade, I never seemed to be able to go for it for one reason or another. When HurricaneJuan mentioned making it a milestone find a few months ago, I told him I was definitely 'in'. And, as luck would have it, he was planning to make the trip on a day where I was off work. Sweet!
We were joined by Snooking Good and the duo of Scarlet the Horse. We met in Miami, loaded up the bikes, and started the trek across Tamiami Trail. We arrived at the park a few hours later, checked in at the ranger station, and headed over to the parking area.
It was a perfect day for a bike ride through the woods. I loved the well-maintained trails winding through the trees. And this time of year, the trails are completely dry ... we did not even encounter a single area of dampness. I always hope to see a Florida Panther when I am in this area, but we saw no evidence of one. We did run across a touristy couple who shared their excitement of seeing an alligator. We all thought that was charming, since gators are ubiquitous around here.
We parked the bikes and did some very minor bushwacking to ground zero. We found the cache immediately as the coords are right on the mark. I took nothing and left nothing. We all signed the log book, and the others dropped a bunch of travel bugs. We snapped some celebratory nonspoiler geophotos and carefully replaced the cache in its hiding place. Then, we hopped back on our bikes, and proceeded to collect the rest of the traditional caches in the park.
Thanks to the cache owners over the years for maintaining this one! A favorite point has been added. Oh, and this one knocks another square off my Jasmer challenge. Only 6 more Jasmer squares to go (June - Nov, 2000), but I will obviously need to make a major road trip for them! (Cache Find #2747).

Nicely done, Slaytornator!!
I am happy to report that I solved it on the first attempt. (I would hope so, after all the iPod caches I made over here in the US!!).
Now if I can just make the 9335.5 mile trip to claim the find. Visiting your country IS on my bucket list. One of these days ...
Cache on!

gophins13 and I finally decided to bring KickingAllie to Disney now that she's three years old ... and she loved it!! We were blessed to share five days in the various parks with her Lelo and Lela (grandparents), along with Uncle Oscar, Aunt Laura, and four-year-old cousin Wyatt visiting from the USAF base in Japan. Everyone had a blast and as a bonus, we may have converted the family into new overseas geocachers!! Thanks for the cache!! (Find 375).

On vacation from Miami, Florida with husband gophins13. We saw this staircase from the top of the Campanile in Piazza San Marco earlier this week and commented on how interesting it was, not knowing that it was the location for this virtual cache. When I later insisted on logging a cache while in Italy, my husband reluctantly agreed. We were happy to see that it was the very staircase that we had noted days before!! Thanks for the hunt ... we had a lot of fun in Venice! (Cache #144).

1. Thinking about looking out over the beach reminds me of the ocean. And that makes me think of the crystal clear waters of the Florida Keys. One of the most famous landmarks in all of the Keys is this giant lobster, located at N 24° 57.488 W 80° 34.297. It is a huge tourist attraction, as there are always people taking photos in front of the lobster, so I fit in quite nicely when I posed for this photo.
2. Lobsters are good eating, as are fish!! Grilled, broiled, sauteed, it just doesn't matter!!! This colorful fish, which could feed an army, is located in front of a local business at N 24° 55.466 W 80° 37.660.
3. You can easily find fish swimming in and around the coral reefs off the Florida Keys, and if you look long enough, you will also find a conch shell. Check out this conch shell exhibit, located at N 25° 4.464 W 80° 27.740.
