I checked out the caches in the Phoenix area that I would try to get to while here for the Society of Toxicology meeting and this one immediately jumped out at me since it is the oldest in the state and I have an oldies challenge http://coord.info/GC3E9QJ and always like to visit these caches when I have the opportunity to do so. I didn't have much at the meeting this morning so i spent the morning in the desert collecting caches. By the time I got to this one, the rush of seeing the rattlesnake early had dissipated and I was just trying to avoid running into cactus along the way (I didn't see a small one and felt the intensity of the thorns). I was so happy to be able to get another oldest cache. I have 9 different states as well as Ireland's oldest caches with this cache. I definitely enjoyed my walk out here even with the thought of snakes being around. I thank you for keeping this one going for so long. I am starting out my racer at this cache and picked up a coin in the process as well. tftcsl tnln

This was the last cache in the cemetery for us today. I wish we had more time to do them all, but there will be other days I am sure when we can complete the others. When we got to gz here we saw a large egg floating in the water and a huge white swan that was being fed by some small kids. There were quite a few people in the area today enjoying the weather and the tranquility here today. We snapped a picture and found the answers that we needed for this cache and then we started our journey home. tftec e-mail sent.
The kids didn't have the best day at their dance competition, so after grabbing some ice cream to soothe the let down, we made our way over here to grab a couple of the caches in the area before heading home. This was well worth the trip. I enjoy doing virtuals, but this cemetery had so much more to offer as well. There were so many different types of trees here and we all enjoyed discovering those. When we got to gz today we were greeted by quite a few Canadian geese, eh. Someone told us that they had brought bread and the geese attacked them. Glad we didn't have to fight any of them off today. tftvc e-mail sent.
The kids, g-ma and I were on our way home but I wanted to stop here. I have passed this cemetery a couple of times while in town because we were meeting other people from our dance academy and never had time to stop. Today I wanted to make sure we got here for a couple of the caches in the area before heading home. What a really cool cemetery here. We enjoyed the variety of trees and the swans and geese. I usually enjoy grabbing earthcaches, but will many times save them for when the kids are with me so that we all get an education together. It is such a shame about the white nose disease. A few days ago we went to a presentation on bats and it was pointed out how devastating the disease is here, but that the European bats don't seem to have a problem fending it off. tftec answers sent.

This was my 100th virtual cache. The kids, g-ma, and I were in town for an Irish dance competition and collecting caches along the way to the hotel. I enjoy virtuals because they end up bringing us to some very unique places and this was yes another of them. It is such a shame that this sculpture ended up where it is since I am sure it is missed by many people. Very interesting history on it as well. Thank you for bringing us here today. E-mail will be sent. tftvc
