Thank you Gracie7 + Mum for your comments. You all did really well to make the 500m climb to this cache and then carry on to the very top.
You are probably right about the Terrain Rating. Although the track is well defined and umobstructed, it is a very steep in places and a demanding climb especially in the heat of summer. Your comment is therefore valid and the Terrain Rating has been changed from 3.5 to 4.
It is important to make sure you have enough food and water when making a climb of this nature especially in the hot summer period.
Many thanks for your kind comments.

Our first morning run to the Picnic Seat at the top, where this cache is located, in a very long time. Didn't want to carry the GPS but didn't need it to locate this cache. This is an incredibly lovely spot that we have visited many times before. Great place for a cache and great views down the Queen Charlotte Sound and back to head of Grove Arm. As with all the caches we have found it is more about the journey than the cache. This is a favourite spot and cache. Many Thanks.

Looked for this cache but could not find at location as described.

Great walk from Cullen Creek (Linkwater) side of Waikakaho Saddle. Took 3 hours to climb to the saddle and down to the old Miners Village. Only 2.5 hours back. Found cache within a few minutes of arrival. The cache was in good condition and contents dry.

Took a quick trip up to the Cullen Point Lookout after a walk round the Cullen Point Loop Track. Found this cache easily, not really a challenge, but would be great for children and families. Cache in good condition and securely shut but the contents were a little damp. There has been so much rain over the last few weeks so this was not really suprising.

One of five caches found during a long morning walk around some of the many pathways at Lake Rotoiti. Lovely sunny winter morning after frosty start. A dusting of snow overnight made the stunning views so much nicer. A great clue made this cache easy to find. The cache container was in good condition and contents dry.

A dusting of snow overnight made the stunning views so much nicer. The Brunner Peninsula Walk, where this cache is located, is incredible. Not only is it a beautiful walk but the bird song (of Tui's & Bellbirds) is wonderful. The cache took a while to find but we were finally successful. The cache container was in good condition and contents dry.

The cache was easy to find and great place to hide. The container was sealed and undamaged but damp insde making it difficult to record our visit in the log book.

A dusting of snow overnight made the stunning views so much nicer. This cache presented us with a challenge and took some time to find. We didn't locate the small track branching off the main track for some time but when found the cache was found fairly quickly. The cache container was in good condition and contents dry.

We enjoyed the lovely walk through mature native bush. The view was worth the climb. Took a little while to find the cache. Could not log our visit as the Log Book was very wet due to a crack in the base of the container.

Great sunny day for a climb (400 meters). Track in good condition, thanks to Outward Bound students, who were doing track maintenance. Cache in good condition too (left a 1964 NZ Penny). Loved the walk along the bushy tops with Bellbirds, Tui's, Tomtits and Fantails for company.

Our very first cache. After heavy rain, the track to the camping area was like a river. Took a while to locate the cache but that was inexperience. The cache was in great condition. Took nothing and left nothing but my note in the log book. However, did get a great idea of what to leave at the next cache we find. Think we are going to love Geocaching Smile
