Logs for hydnsek

Hi. I will be trying for this cache on Wednesday, June 19, in the afternoon (coming from Moab). If anyone wants to join me, pls message.

Hi there - my Happy Camper TB has been listed in this cache since May 2010. Could the next finder let me know if it's still there, so I know whether it's missing or just having a really long visit. Thanks!

Thanks to rodgowdy for an excellent CITO and to everyone who shoveled, hauled, and spread gravel today to show our support for Discovery Park. Fantastic turnout and work effort - you guys rock! Cool (Great support from the Groundspeak lackeys, as well - thanks, y'all!) WSGA spent the past year and a half working to get caching restored to Discovery Park, and Weightman and I are grateful to Seattle Parks for working with us, to all of you for supporting the effort, and especially to our new Discovery Park Geocaching Liaison, rodgowdy. Sorry I couldn't stay, but I had to hit another CITO nearly an hour away.

For those who attended last year's Discovery Beach Cleanup CITOs (and helped us win back the park) - which was better, hauling gravel or tweezing Styrofoam off the beach? Razz

I'm not normally a puzzler, but when jim_carson contacted me and JustMike to see if we'd like to team up for this series, I was game. Thank goodness for their puzzle-solving skills, as I would never have gotten a few of them. Today, the three of us piled into my car at 8:30 and did the entire series on a sunny spring Sunday, finishing about 5:30 with a lovely stroll through the flowery hillside to the the very cool and unusual final container. Thanks for an excellent series, and to my companions for the fun. Cool

What a gorgeous spring day on the waterfront! Big Grin Met Jomer nearby for a bit of WSGA biz, then wandered over to grab this one. En route, helped some Japanese tourists figure out our pay parking scheme. Yet another cool spot I would never have known about without caching - nifty fountain and, of course, great water views. TFTC.

I looked for this one briefly when it was new - wow, 11/11/06, to be exact - and haven't tried again since. I hate public displays. Today, I met up with MarcusArelius and Boonie-Medic to attend an REI seminar on hiking the PCT and we decided to go for it. BM found it fairly quickly, just as I was dialing the owner for assistance so we didn't make too big a fools of ourselves. Dang, I looked there three years ago, but not well enough. Glad to have this one off my list! TFTC.

Oh deer! Razz Liked the statue and the cache.

Back to correct my DNF - walked right up and saw it today. Easy when you look at the right angle. Wink TFTC.

Great views today! Several muggles about. Quite the cultural mix; I was particularly fascinated by the home boys with their loud rap who were having a friendly chat with the elderly white couple and petting their pup. Was able to snag the cache undetected; shockingly, it was in the first place I checked. That never happens. TFTC.

Beautiful views from this location, but cache is a wet, moldy mess.

Lots of looking, no finding. Alas.

Despite having lived in the Bay Area for 15 years, I never went inside Coit Tower. Now as a returning visitor from Seattle, I got to appreciate these great murals - thanks for showing them to me. I couldn't see the mural image on my PDA, but was able to suss the correct info from the cache page, and answer sent.

Nuts, finally doing another paddle in this area today, and missed the opp to grab the final for this series.

Washington cacher seeks Tasmanian cacher for info exchange. I have finished Part 1 and have the required info for the Tasmanian cache - email me!

My first visit to Monte Cristo, accompanied by lucyandrickie, who likes to visit every year (I hear it was their first hike when they were courting...Wink). Great scenic and historic hike, this will be a favorite for a long time. The Green Jeep was already gone; the Angry Marmots passed through a few days ago, presumably they are on vacation and will log later. Thanks for keeping this oldie-but-goodie alive! Big Grin

Yeah, this location was hard to miss, even in the dark. Razz Nice bit of history! Agree the posted coords are 100+ feet off, so I let my GPS average for a couple minutes. My coords are very close to Foxchasers, so you could probably update the page with one of them.

Nice location. I started a bit high, but soon realized the error of my ways. Cache continues to be in great shape despite all the rain, altho the camo is flaking a bit. TNLN. Thanks!

Found the clue item but no joy. Lots of brush clearing and tree chopping in the area, so I gave up after a bit, but looks like perhaps it's still there, since MP found it a few days ago. Next time....

Wow, this IS a ridiculously easy find! Wink Usually, when cache owners put them in front of someone's house and say that, I make a fool of myself in public.

Right as I walked up to it, a car came down the drive, and I waved to the occupants. The homeowners? Are they also the cache owners? Visitors? Anyway, they didn't stop to chat, so I checked out the goods and decided to leave Bullwinkle TB and take Purpley Passions and Fisher Nuts - who might get to visit firehouses in Australia!

Now that's a lot of cars! Quick find, should've walked across the bridge to the other nearby KE cache, but silly me, I decided to drive.

Quick find, but this cache is in desperate need of maintenance. It was full of water, the container is rusting (not water-tight anymore), and the log is ruined. I tossed in a sticker, since I couldn't sign. Suggest replacing or archiving this one.

Wow, what a turnout! Stepped off a plane just in time to make it, and glad I did. Great to see so many familiar faces, and meet a few new folks. Thanks to Seth! and Lucy for setting it up, to ohjoy! for my gift, and to everyone for a fun event. Congrats to the 2006 WSGA officers, too! Dropping in 3 TBs for pickup.

I'm finally logging this one on the last day locationless caches are active, but back-dating it to the day when my partner actually did the deed.....i forgot to log it until now, after all that work!

So....'hydnsek' translates into 49 36.7xx, which runs through southern British Columbia. I contacted Pattycat, who has a cache along this line, and she and a friend snapped the photos. Minor nit is that she thought she had to take the photo at her cache, not at the exact coords of my name, so fifth digit is off, but after she and her friend made the trip out, I hope this will be accepted - it's mostly right, and honors the spirit of the cache, which was to make contact with a cacher in another part of the world!

Thanks for a great cache idea, and special thanks to Pattycat - glad to meetcha!

Whew, logging this one in the nick of time. This is the Crooked River Petroglyph in Cove Palisades State Park near Madras, OR.
