Logs for jpv

05-Apr-05
Funny name for an interesting cache.
I was on holydays. Thus I loaded about 500 locations of geocaches from NZ north, but any logs! And I didn’t know what the cache was. I was driving to Coromandel, the cache was near the road, so I decided to seek it. I was happy to discover the mine, then the museum near the mine, as I’ve never seen any open mine in my life.
A geocache as I like them: a geocache that make me to think: “Happily, I have a GPS device and I’m a geocacher. If I was not, I’d miss this interesting spot!â€Â. Thank you to show me… your mine, even though it’s not yours!

What a nice small river. A good break on the road to Coromandel. Thank you.

It was the first geocache of my girlfriend. She enjoyed to find it. And now, she wants to offer a GPS to his father! Not a very nice spot under clouds and rain… but a good break on the road to south.

It was one of my best geocache of all my holidays in NZ. Indeed, my campervan was on the wrong side of the “estuaire†(French word for “where the river joins the seaâ€). I had two choices: 40 km to drive… or 300m crawling in the stream, then 3 km walking along the beach, then a short up hike, plus return. I managed to convince my girlfriend this 2nd solution was more fun. We put all gear, GPS unit included, in a waterproof bag, and we began to swim towards the cache. We needed more than 4 hours (shells picking included!)… but what a nice spot for outdoor activities!

I was on holydays. Thus I loaded about 500 locations of geocaches from NZ north, but any logs! And it wasn’t so easy to find the beginning of the track without logs!
The maori’s carving door was nice, the track very pleasant… and the view so astonishing! I didn’t imagine so nice panorama when I was driving on the road. A geocache as I like them: a geocache that make me to think: “Happily, I have a GPS device and I’m a geocacher. If I was not, I’d miss this view!â€. Great spot! Thank you to help me to discover it.

In this cache, I find a travel bug : a poor warrior who must endure 24h/24 the noise of the falls. I delivered it from this malediction… and put it in a very calm and peacefull spot in French Polynesia!
Nice falls. It was the 2nd time I came there. My dream is to go down the falls with an inflatable canoe (but I’ll never do it as I don’t practice hard white water). Do you know if someone does it?

It was my last day in NZ, and my last geocache before drop off the campervan. I woke up very early to keep me enough time to seek it before to drive towards Auckland’s airport. Happily, it was a nice last geocache! Very nice track to finish 12 days of holydays. Thank you.
