So much easier than we SnoopyRocks and I made the trek! We parked near the ridge and started to billygoat up! Fun cactus marks the box on his Jasmer

My mission since Creaky Cactus and I got together three years ago was to start getting his Jasmer closer to mine so we could travel and finish it together. He think he needed over 50 boxes, but I could be just delirious. Let me mention, we both have a tendency to get car sick. So…. Indiana Jones theme music playing from The New Channel Island View all the way here. We are in my 2 wheel drive 4Runner. I tell him, I have no idea about the drive across the top of the mountain as I have never done it, but I know it took SnoopyRocks and I about 60 minutes to get to it coming up from the 101. Creaky Cactus is riding Shot Gun…or in the “I’ll get sick first” seat. Off we drive and it says on Google maps say 7.5 miles and 43 minutes. We made it but had to make many stops as the road while doable in my geo beast, was pretty rugged for our sensitive souls. Oh, and the I forgot to mention earlier in the week, he threw his back out so that’s just a awesome too. As I go to grab the cache, it’s not quite where it was the first time I came, so I am going to spryly hop into the crevice and grab it for us to sign. WHACK! I about knock myself out when I hit my head on the Boulder above. He said he saw a few cartoon starts flying around my head but no birdies. Lol. I dropped a couple trackables, and he signed both our names next to where team Pea-Snoop signed years ago. We recovered a bit and then decided to drive out towards Refugio. We didn’t even stop for any other caches that were ALL OVER THIS ROAD. After about 30 minutes the terrain is really rocky and couple times I hear a rock hit my undercarriage. It was like being in the Indiana Jones Ride at Disneyland for 90 minutes. We stopped so we could both recover and almost stopped the car for a happy dance when we hit the paved road. Whew! Memories! I asked him if he still wanted to marry me all good what an adventure

Seeing that someone has taken the cache has me so sad! There were 20 years worth of logs and 18 active travelers in there This ruined my day.

Whew. I had been planning to get this with my dear friend ScrabbleD (a beginner since I think she only caches when we get together) and we thought we'd be able to drive the road and just walk the half mile to it if I had my car...so I drove from CA for a visit. This was our big plan besides catching up. When we arrived at the road, we realized we didn't have a pass to enter or the code to unlock the gate. We parked and geared up for the walk. It was very cool to see two wild horses across the street. I decided we would go with the Team Pea-Snoop method- follow the line on the map that takes you as the crow flies. It said that was it was only 1.5 miles. The terrain was not awful, but we were each wearing our sneakers and there were more rocks and stickers from the native plants than could be counted. We finally made it to GZ and I was elated! Signed for us and did the happy dance. Another box for Jasmer. I left the new lackey travel bug (Sorry I kept the really cool coin and sent out the metal tag that came with it.) Since the journey to the cache was much worse than we expected, we decided to make a beeline back to the actual dirt road and then walk it all the way out. As we made our way to the road, we spotted two more wild horses and were enthralled as another showed up and another. There must have been 7 and we stood and watched them as they stood and watched up. It was a highlight for sure. End of the day it was 6.55 miles walked. #1535
