I had a lot of trouble with multipath from you many incredible tall buildings, but greatly enjoyed my first find on Taiwan!

I, for one, did not see "mood of the weasel" at the event. Any idea who has this bug?

I was afraid it would be a low turnout, but I pretty happy that we had 5 today considering the short lead time and busy schedules around Camp Victory. Thanks a lot to CoyoteTrust for making it all the way down to see us.
Also, the Cache ADACache put together was certainly germane to our surroundings, and a good puzzle. Hope to see the new guys folks logging some finds soon.

Everyone...
I will post the coords for the meet and greet soon... I haven't brought my GPS out for a week or so. Like I said, I don't want to post the coords of the dining hall for OPSEC reasons, so we'll meet in an uncrowded/unbuilt area near where you always see Geese outside of Al Faw Palace. We can then walk to chow. Coords forthcoming...

Found this one as we were driving west on 90 through Hondo, TX. He-Devil didn't give She-Devil the benefit of a countdown, so she was talking as he took the pic. Hence the goofy look on her face. TFTC!
Here we are in Sanderson, TX, Cactus Capital of Texas!! We googled the town, and it seems that the town's suggested motto is "Eat more cactus"! We weren't quite sure how they got that title, as it seemed that they had neither more nor less cactii than other towns in the region. Nevertheless, they had the sign as proof! And here's that proof. It is a charming little town-only gasoline for miles and miles!!

I'm willing to bet this is the smallest, least used of all Opera Houses listed here. The Opera House in question is the Langry Opera House and the Jersey Lilly saloon in Langtry Ghost Town, Texas -- formerly run by Judge Roy Bean "the Law West of the Pecos."
Here's the story:
In 1882 the lawlessness was so bad that the railroad asked for help from the Texas Rangers. The closest legal authority was in Fort Stockton over 100 miles away. With the blessing of the Rangers and the railroad a proprietor of a store housed in a tent in Vinagaroon was appointed as the first Justice of the Peace in Pecos County (now Val Verde County) August 2, 1882.
Roy Bean never one to stand on ceremony tried his first case the week before the appointment. In 1883 the judge moved his business and his court to Langtry, Texas. There he built the Jersey Lilly Saloon, Court Room and Pool Hall. Some legends cite Bean as being a "hanging" judge, but there is no record that he ever sentenced a man to be hanged. The only law book the Judge ever owned was the 1879 Revised Statues of Texas. Occasionally he actually used it.
The "Judge" had great admiration and fascination for the famous English actress Lillie Langtry. She was internationally know as the "The Jersey Lily so he named his establishment after her. A sign painter commissioned (for food and drink) to letter the sign misspelled "Lily".
For years, Roy boasted of his "acquaintance with Miss Langtry," and promised locals she would one day arrive and sing in Langtry. In 1896, after his first saloon was destroyed by fire, Roy rebuilt the Jersey Lilly and constructed a home for himself across the street, which he called the Opera House, anticipating the day when Lillie would perform there. Roy never met Miss Lillie, but he often wrote her, and she is purported to have written back, even sending him 2 pistols, which he cherished till his dying day.
One of the most colorful stories about the Judge is true. He successfully promoted the Maher - Fitzsimmons prize fight in February 1896. It was staged in defiance of U.S. and Mexico law on a sand bar in the middle of the Rio Grande River.
Here are pictures of She-Devil at the Saloon and Opera House.

This was a great place to stay in Terlingua Texas... makes a perfect jumping off point for Big Bend. The Hotel is the El Dorado, which look like the Alamo, according to the owner: Art. Another thing about the El Dorado, it gets 2 channels on the TV. Those 2 channels are fed to the rooms by Art through his satellite dish... the neat thing (maybe it's neat) is that the channels you watch are whatever Art is watching! No choice! I call it Art-TV. Strangely voyueristic, mostly CBS!

This marker is in -- of all things, an parking lot near San Antonio Int Airport. There is an elaborate skylight system that has the sun shine in at various equinoxes (equinoxi?) and so forth.

The attached photos are of Pitlochry Dam in Perthshire Scotland. Of note, this dam comes complete with a "fish ladder" to enable Salmon to make it upstream past the dam. The process seems a bit difficult for the fish, but we noticed 2 salmon making the trek upstream on 30 May 05.

The William Bartrum Arboretum near Wetumpka, Alabama. I found this one on TDY to Maxwell, right befor eit was archived. The Arboretum was slammed by a hurricane this past year, but is still a great hike, and full of caches.
