The bloke in the ticket office was a bit of a worry, after spotting the cache we had to use diversionery tactics & wait for a group of visitors to keep him ocupied while I went in & grabed it.

Found on a Saturday stroll around Scarlett. Have been coming down here since I was a kid & never gave the place a second thought. Its great to find out a little bit of the history of the Island and how it was formed. I was amazed to read that scarlett started out on the equator!

Searching Sharm el Sheikh for a regular cache we came uppon this Funicular railway in the Four Seasons Hotel North of Nama Bay. It is used to transport guests from the upper levels of the hotel to the beach.
The car itself has a hydraulic leveling mechanism which allows for the gradient

This may be a bit of a tentative log, The Falcon Cliff cable car has been out of service since the 1960's. It was built in 1927 to transport Holidaymakers from Cunninghams Camp at the top down to Douglas Promenade. Sadly the holidaymakers have gone and it looks like the lift is soon to follow!

The Gaiety theater & Opera House is the pride & joy of the Isle of Man. For more information log on to their webite http://www.gov.im/villagaiety/tour/gaiety.htm where you can have a virtual tour of the complex which has just been refurbished at tremendous cost by the Manx Government (taxpayer!). The grand front facade gives the lie to the main structure of the building which is constructed from galvanised sheeting. I'll do a few photos if anyone is interested.
The Manx Gilbert & Sulivan Society will be preforming The Mikado form 18th to 22nd October 2005 - should be a good night!!
