What's for Lunch? - Locationless Geocaching @ Home

Locationless Geocaching @ Home

Due to the recent COVID-19 Pandemic and the advice that restricting your movements outside your home to only essential activities, Geocaching Australia will be listing 3 special locationless geocaches to find from the confines of your home this month.

The usual rules of locationless geocaches apply in that you must be at the location when your photograph is taken and that you should include co-ordinates of the location where the photograph was taken, however to protect your privacy you may list the co-ordinates in your closest park, shopping centre, the corner of your street or other close location that maintains your privacy.

These special geocaches may only be logged once each and at the end of the month they will be archived as they are only intended to be used for the 2020 Game of Games.

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the requirements that the locationless geocaches be found within the confines of your property and we encourage you to think laterally in the event that a challenge may not be normally achievable. Part of this challenge is to think how creative you can be in capturing the essence of the locationless geocaches while remaining at your home location. Geocaching Australia encourages you to be inventive and creative with your photography. Think outside the box when it comes to your photograph. As long as the photo is taken on your own property and meets the challenge criteria the requirements of this geocache have been met.

Logs that have photographic evidence that they were not taken at your home location will not be eligible for this months reward.

Challenge

Take a photo of what you have prepared at home for lunch and attach the photograph to your log.

Better get my logs in for this month's game!
Decided to experiment with a new dish for lunch and tried out a garlic bread steak sandwich.
Tasted quite nice, but I reckon I cooked it a bit too much on one side.
Thanks to Geocaching Australia for this locationless.

I forgot so many times during this month to photograph one lunch meal.
Today was my last chance an while I enjoyed marinated roast beef with chutney, tomato, mushroom and cheese I again failed.
Sob, sob, sob.

30-Jun-20
This was my lunch today - a toasted sandwich and a cup of tea. Not very inspiring but quick and easy

30-Jun-20
Light lunch usually for me.

This is the lunch I normally have after volunteering work at the Aviation Museum in Bull Creek.

Perfect lunch for today: homemade samosas. Its been raining all day, we've had the fire on all day, and it's Sunday. Time to clear out the fridge of all the leftovers and put a bit of curry together with all the vegies in delicious pastry parcels. Yum!!

28-Jun-20
A great lunch that I make frequently. A few packets of ramen noodles (Mi Goreng preferred) with the broth left over from boiling the noodles (I add the packets to the brother rather than at the end to the noodles) and a few port, chicken and seafood dumplings makes for a nice, tasty and warm lunch. Alas, so full of salt I feel like I'm desiccating as I'm eating, but mmmmmm, so tasty.

28-Jun-20
An early lunch on a miserable rainy day - avos on toast with some salt and pepper. Our trees are loaded with avos right now so most meals seem to have avocado included in some way.

26-Jun-20
For lunch today, I had a home made chicken and Mayo roll. YUM! TFTLC Very Happy

26-Jun-20
I keep forgetting to take a photo at lunchtime ... but I remembered today, so here it is. I made up a thai/malaysian vegetable curry soup for dinner yesterday and as happens when you cook a pot of soup, there was some left for lunch today ... and tomorrow too! I guess I can even use the same photo to cover both the lunch and dinner challenge.

Thanks for this challenge GA.

26-Jun-20
For lunch yesterday I cooked a Spanish omelette using left over roast veggies. Served on a couple of slices of toast.
Thanks Geocaching Australia for the challenge

25-Jun-20
Mmmmm pizza for lunch with a delish coffee. This is the life. A beetroot hummus base with lamb mince, yoghurt and mince to add a Middle Eastern twist to our homemade delight. TFTC GCA

Lunch was my favourite grilled chicken and salad roll.

22-Jun-20
Another crazy challenge to keep us entertained this month. Today’s lunch was a chicken a rice dish, so yummy with the roast veggies in the mix. Makes me hungry again just thinking of it! Thanks for the challenge. Thanks for the cache.

Lunch is usually simple so it's mostly a sandwich or breadroll with a variety of fillings. Today's lunch is a toasted grain bread with cheese and avocado sandwich and a cup of tea. TFTL Geocaching Australia

Hi Geocaching Australia,

we have been meaning to complete this one for sometime now but we keep forgetting to snap lunch, so today while at work Mr DEZ055 snapped a photo of his ham and Pickles sandwich he was having to qualify for this cache.

I headed out with a bunch of friends to pick up an Adventure Lab. We headed to Maccas for lunch afterwards and were glad we could sit inside as it was pouring rain outside. We managed to get our caching done between storms Smile Maccas isn't a usual choice for lunch but tastes good when shared with friends after picking up a bunch of smileys Smile

This was lunch one day during the week, eaten while helping a Year 12 student catch up on work she had missed. At least she didn't ask why I took a photo of my lunch.

21-Jun-20
For the last 53 years of my life I have been taking sandwiches to school and work for lunch.

I grew today's lunch.

Last year Woolies were giving away seeds and seed raising kits. We got a couple and I decided to see if they would grow. Max and I carefully put them in the seed raising mix and watered them when it got dry. Soon they had grown so much we needed to put them into bigger pots and give them lots of water and fertiliser. It was exciting to watch them get bigger and see the first tomato flowers bloom. It wasn't long before we had little green globes all over the tomato bush.

One day about 10 days ago of the green ones fell off, so Suzy brought it inside and sat it by the window near the sink. We've been watching it get redder and redder and today it was ready to eat, so I thought I would have it for lunch.

I could have had ham and tomato sandwiches, or cheese and tomato toasties but I wanted to keep it simple so I put the sliced tomato on buttered Saos with a little bit of salt and pepper.
You know what.... that tomato was delicious! I can't wait for the rest to ripen. It was a very good lunch.

Thank you for the locationless - the coordinates are for my local Woolies where we got the seeds.

A wet, rainy day so stayed indoors and worked on GCA locationless caches all day. So lunch was simple, crumpets with honey or raspberry jam.
Thanks.

Week Day lunches are generally a salad prepared the night before or leftover and is eaten rather quickly at work. Weekend lunches are whatever.

We made pizza last night (see SambooBears log on GA14549 for details https://geocaching.com.au/log/21704308 It was a delicious pizza and there is no leftover pizza this morning, but there is two slices of prosciutto and 6 or 7 cherry bocconcini balls, so I decided to make scrambled eggs with prosciutto and mozzarella. Scrambled eggs are such a good way to turn leftover ingredients from pizza nights (although I haven't gone as far as putting in pineapple). The end result of today's effort was certainly tasty especially with the added rocket leaves.

Thanks for the opportunity to share my lunch. Coordinates for where we bought the eggs.

13-Jun-20
Today for lunch we had a cheese kranski, with tomato, lettuce, kalamata olives and a freshly laid egg from one of our hens.
tn_30821707212.jpg
Topped with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, some ground black pepper and a sprinkle of salt.

The coordinates will actually put you in the food court at Chadstone Shopping Centre, although nearby, we never go there.

Thank you for yet another delicious cache, Geocaching Australia.

Here we go, What is for Lunch or as I call it Dinner.

10-Jun-20
My lunches are not usually very exciting when I am at home, when I am off for a day hike, a lot of planning goes into my lunch and where I will have it. So today's offering is just some Turkish bread with cheese and nice cup of tea. Thanks for the cache Geocaching Australia and the chance to be part of this challenge for the month of June.

10-Jun-20
What's for lunch? Grilled cheese, grilled chicken sausage gumbo soup and a Coke. Including my "DudleyGrunt" mug that was not actually a geocaching related gift from a friend. I have a group of friends, Nimrods, and we each have these quirky nicknames. Buster Nibbs puchased mugs for all of us a few years ago.

Thanks and Happy Trails!

Lunch today is left-over lasagna and an avocado. Sprinkled some extra cheese and sauce over it before heating it up. Very good. I also added a tablespoon of Italian salad dressing in the avocado halves. A glass of ice water to wash it down. Added the date and my personal pathtag for good measure.

Lunch today is soldier toast with Pumpkin soup loaded with Garlic.
After waiting too long for my darling hubby to chop up the pumpkin, I decided two days ago to fix the issue. I chopped a hole in the top, dragged out the seeds, loaded 2-3 heaps dessert spoons of crushed garlic inside and some cracked pepper and put it in the oven to slowly bake. A few hours later I took it out, peeled off the skin, put the flesh into a bowl, added chicken stock and voila ... lunch for today. On first taste test after it was cooked I didn't like it much, I thought it had an earthy skin flavour. But today after time to mellow, I realised it must be the garlic I could taste. Verdict: it was actually quite sweet and yummy. I don't recommend others do what I did and pile in the garlic, we just happen to like a lot of it.

Another day and forever grateful that we live in a country that has managed the virus situation much better than some other countries. I just hope that the folk that went to all the rallies over the weekend do not start off new cases of the virus. Thanks again ClappingClappingClan Phoenix

Lunch at the 2y’stassies home depends on what is available. Sometimes its leftovers from last nights dinner, sandwiches, rolls if we are heading out, a fruit platter, salad or biscuits and cheese. Today was rather cold so lunch was toasted Turkish Bread with ham, cheese and tomato followed by a banana and coffee. The attached photo shows the Turkish bread about to go into the sandwich toaster.
Thanks for this cache Geocaching Australia. It is really good that Geocaching Australia is very flexible so that members have been able to provide a range of innovative locationless caches. These have helped many of us fill in time while confined to our homes.

Lunch is our main meal of the day and it is up to me to prepare it. Today I cooked steak and kidney. I was meaning to make a pie but I didn't start cooking early enough so instead of having pastry on top, it was converted into a Cottage pie. It was served with mashed sweet potato, carrots, peas, corn and capsicum. Yep it tasted ok too. Thanks for this cache Geocaching Australia. Clan CerberusClan Cerberus

DD has at various times thought about making sourdough bread. She was recently given some starter, so got to it and this bread was the basis of lunch today. We think that breadmaking will happen again!

Lunch is typically disorganised, I’ll open the fridge or pantry door, stare and ponder, that’ll do.. today’s effort, bread, tomato, cheese, bit of margarine and chilli sauce and a crisp carrot on the side. A culinary masterpiece?.. thanks..!!
