Description
Ned Kelly’s Iron Horse
The Trike was built by the owner, Mr Bushies2.
In April 2006 a trike kit and wheels were delivered from Custom Trikes Australia, Perth.
Made a sissy bar out of 20mm solid stainless steel from old spit skewer.
Rear light boxes made into Ned Kelly helmets from steel round tube, made a few attempts before they look right.
The mudguards was made from rolled blackform steel to form like Ned’s body armour with hammered rivets on overlapped steel .
Dash panel with speedo and idiot lights, gruesome job to form same shape as tank, hammered by hand then sprayed clear
enamel, tacho was fitted later.
The fuel tank, side panels and front guard were sprayed by the owner using 8 spray cans ‘Gunmetal Grey’.
Side panels was hammered, heated and dipped in water.
The Scat 1600cc stroker motor finally arrived from America 5 months later.
Electrical wirings were done by the owner and his workmate.
Ned Kelly photos were taken from a large poster and they were printed on special stickers by the Crocodile Sign on side of the tank, sprayed clear enamel over the panels by Kununurra Panel Beaters.
The trike took the owner 8 months to complete the project.
This cache was made by Ms Bushies2 to give Mr Bushies2 a surprise.
To log this cache take a picture and the coordinates of any trike (motorcycle with three wheels )you see and log it so we can see how many are out there.
Logs
I was taking a photo for another cache when this trike rode past so I made a quick change of position and took this photo.
This rather well equipped trike was parked in the street in Mole Creek as I drove past.
I quite often see Trikes but not in the position to be able to get a photo. This one was co-operative by being parked in the street in Latrobe. The weather was showery hence the cover.
Co-ordinates are approximate so as not to reveal exact location. This Harley Trike was rebuilt by my brother who had a love of the internal combustion engine. He rebuilt may motorbikes and cars. His last project before he passed was a 1964 Mustang.
We spotted this awesome one and the driver let us take this photo.
Thanks for the locationless cache
It looked so out of place there amongst all the usual cavalcade of vehicles.
The person in the driver's seat was not the owner, just someone happy to have their photo taken after the service to lighten the atmosphere.
Not the sort of machine I'd be comfortable riding in. The only time I tried to ride a motorbike I ended up in the mud with it on top of me.
Cured any further desire I may have had for that form of transportation.
Mind you I would dearly love to own an electronic trike bike that does a respectable speed, befitting a septuagenarian!
German WWII 'Three Wheel' Motorcycle and Sidecar
Lithgow, NSW
This isn't actually what it looks like . . . the guy in charge explained that the apparent 'sidecar' actually has a driving wheel, making it a trike instead of a motorcyle. (The trailer is of course just a trailer.)
So this is a trike with a difference . . . vintage 1940 or so.
In Sydney with the geohoney and headed up through The Rocks to do a walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Spotted this Trike as we were headed towards the markets. It is one of several available for hire by tourists wanting to do one of a number of tours around Sydney. I wasn't quick enough to grab a snap when one drove past when I was walking up Observatory Hill later in the day. TFTC Bushies2

Good one!
He makes sure that you are well covered up with sheep skin, jackets, gloves and a scarf, all provided at no charge. Its not uncommon to see in at the top of Mt Wellington.
The Trike is fully licensed and insured to carry three passengers. Look him up if every you come to TASSIE
Thanks for the cache Bushies 2
My journey from Yackandandah took me through the picturesque cathedral city of Wangaratta, then the historic town of Glenrowan, the 'Keeping Place of the Kelly Legend', before I finally got back onto the Hume Highway and made my way slowly to Seymour for the night, stopping at every 'Driver Reviver Station' on the way.
My site at the caravan park was opposite a Cub Camper, and about an hour after parking the Wicked Camper this unusual looking Trike arrived.
I had a chat with the owner, and he explained that his Trike was powered by a Ford Focus motor, which allowed him to tow the Cub Camper with ease.

Spotted this excellent specimen today while visiting nearby Katoomba, at the lower part of Katoomba Street, near the Waratah Street intersection.
This trike was on the side of the road with a “For Sale” sign. Asking Price $25 000.
Cool...
The event is always strongly supported by the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club of Australia and the Veterans Motorcycle Club of Australia. Before and after the march a large party of motorcycles were assembled near the Bruce Rock Hotel, including this Can-Am Spyder Trike embellished with very nice redback spider artwork.

A great way to go caching.
found this cool trike
Leura, NSW
I hope this one qualifies!
I spotted this old red motorcycle and sidecar -- clearly a three-wheeled vehicle -- at a special event in the Blue Mountains.
There were also a number of vintage cars on display.
Many come from far and wide to sample one of the best drives in the world, the Great Ocean Rd.
On weekends you can find along stretch of bikes parked out the front of the cafes.
This was no exception today where I found this one.

Report: While out doing some initial research for "Hidden History 12: A Short Tour" I spotted the Rocks Markets Trike which takes people on tours around Sydney for some ludicrous fee I didnt indulge but did snap a smiley through the crowd to scratch another Locationless off the list.

The trike belongs to Ben Ozdemir, who runs the carwash at the club. Ben was born in Turkey and emigrated to Australia in 1976. He says he was immediately captivated by the history of the Anzacs and the battles between the Turks and the Allies at Gallipoli.
In April 2010, after four years of planning, Ben shipped his New South Wales registered trike to Turkey, where he was part of the 16,000 strong Australian contingent at the Dawn Service at Gallipoli. He then rode the Black Sea coast road from Istanbul to Georgia on the Russian border, a journey of 5,000 Km, flying the Australian and Bankstown Sports Club flags off the back of the trtike with pride, often camping beside the road with a swag and sleeping bag.

TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
This was a Goldwing Trike, and looks heaps more comfortable than the Suzuki Katana that I used to sit on the back of.
TFTC,
Roostaman.
Can you just find any trike (tricycle?)
Or your special one?
Yes It was cute one... while we attending Wagga Wagga for Oz Mega Event. while we walked along to the cache.
With Varuna, Crank1 and Alchemy2. See photo at Alchemy2's log.
Thanks.
I was walking to the Oz Mega Event Banner at the corner near the traffic light. Photo taken of us - Varuna, Everlasting, Crank1 and Alchemy2... then saw a gorgoues trike stopped at the traffic light.
Muggles were very proud to be taken photo.
