Description
Carripook is an aboriginal name for 'small hill'. The railway siding Carripook was built in the 1920's, and at its peak in the 1950's serviced at least 60 trains per week. Passenger trains were the main public transport up until the 1960's, but the upgrading of Mt Barker Road and introduction of the SE Freeway brought an end to the passenger service to the area. Carripook Railway Station was eventually demolished in 1994 during the Federal Government's standardisation of the national rail system. Carripook Park is part of a larger parcel of land originally purchased in 1906 by Captain William Muir, who was a pilot on the Port River and lived at Semaphore. Captain Muir planned to use the property as a weekend and holiday retreat. The Stirling Council purchased the 1.6 hectare block in 1995. This small scenic park features a trickling winter creek, park benches, a gazebo and information board, and BBQ facilities.

Looks like Featherwaite bet me to it.
Took me a while, but found a great spot & then found the cache.
A muggle arrived in a red VW, but took no notice, or maybe I was being extra quiet.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for bringing us here & the cache
Thanks for the cache
Have been past before with no chance to stop so made the time today. A bit soggy underfoot on the way there, but all was good. Cache was tucked in it's hidey hole but knowing it was camouflaged actually help to find it!
Dog walker muggles oblivious to me 100 m away meant it was all mine to savour.
Left a white die and took nothing except a happy buzzy feeling. (Especially so for a physical GCA!)
I parked at the gate, grabbed the necessary gear and headed off for the find. Just inside the gate I decide to load the waypoint on the Garmin, only to discove it's not even in there! Lucky I had the laptop in the car, so a quick waypoint send and I was on the go again.
I don't think I spent enough time watching the arrow, as it had me up the embankment a bit. Soon enough I looked in more likely spots and found the nicely cammoed container. It's good to finally get to wander around this top spot.
Thanks Featherwaite.
The rain was coming down as I neared GZ and the park is a quagmire. TFTC
